Well... Monday ill be interesting

I was on the phone with the radiator supplier several times Friday. Ran across a couple of things that concerned me. After some reassuring, I did get everything back together.

However...

I figure if the radiator can't keep the engine from overheating on the freeway on a 75 degree day, it's woefully inadequate. I don't care what the guys says about it being the right radiator... if he wants to stick to that line... then it's freakin' defective and he can keep sending replacements at his cost.

It's gotta go. NOT GOOD.

Wow - can't even keep up with a 75° day? That's real not good....and shouldn't happen 'cause an aluminum radiator should cool better than a similarly-sized old-style rad.

Yea... I'm about to get on the phone. I'm not impressed to say the least...

I thought I mentioned the build quality was not good. Visual inspection makes me think there's less fins on the aluminum one, and in some places they stop a half inch before the tank, there's a couple that start 'spacing out' towards the ends, all the plugs were plastic. Plus it is thinner, and about an inch and a half shorter.

Ya want it? Cheap [emoticon]

I'd ditch that thing in a hurry. With that down sized hose connection, you'd have a heck of a time finding the right replacement, not to mention the reduced flow you end up with. The bad workmenship says a lot too. Just my opion, but not worth the hassel.

Trying... but so far they aren't returning my calls. :|

Posted By: eyeteeth on 05/03/10 01:50pm

Got through. They are looking into sending a call tag for the unit. I feel a little better now.

Posted By: Leeann on 05/03/10 02:44pm

Good to hear. That's just plain ridiculous.

I'm sorry about the mess...

Latest update...

They won't send a call tag... I have to pay for shipping, but I did get an RMA.

I got the original re-cored. Interesting note. The re-core, is a three core. all the parts listings, and everything I've read... says it should be three core. Before I had it redone... it was only a 2 core? i wonder if it was done before, and they went for the 'cheap' option?

Anyway, I haven't taken it for a drive yet, but I got everything swapped back over this afternoon. Let it idle for a bit, seemed to be fine. We'll take it for a drive this weekend. Namely home from the campground.
