If there is a light there it has to work, But if someone has took the lights off and added reflectors then no they don't have to light up all is needed by law is two tail and brake lights and two head light thats the law but if you have a light on the body it has to be in working order. The RV is not over width.

Federal law requires both the two outside clearance lights and the three center "identification lights" on all vehicles 80 inches or wider (mine is 95 inches). There is a summary of the law on this page, the 4th message down. http://www.rv.net/forums/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/7668210.cfm You can find the entire rules here: Federal Motor Vehicle Standards |

well they all work now except the last 2 on the back passenger corner, i think i have an idea. : ) i have these little-tiny dollar store flashlights. the lenses on the clearance lights just snap on and off and they have a bit of extra room in them. soon as its dark out im going to put these in the lenses and see how they look. if they look ok i will just use these on the last 2 and turn them on and off by hand when ever i drive in the dark. |

And my RV came from the factory without meeting the requirements of this law. (c) On each side, two side marker lamps, one at or near the front and one at or near the rear. The rear it has one on each side, But at the front side it has none. |

Oldtrucker, I looked at the picture of your RV on page 2 of your thread and I notice that you have two wrap-around amber lights on each side. Perhaps one of these is the front-side marker light. I have seen references to light specs that say you can use lights visible from both the front and side for certain requirements. What mine doesn't have is front and rear side reflectors. Yours is the first reference I have seen to that requirement. At least in the front of yours I don't see a reflector either (the rear is not visible in the picture). |

Yeah the turn/park light can be seen from the side, Your right there is no reflectors at all I think I will add them and add 4 more lights to the sides, One each side top rear and one each side top front and lower front too. I'm going to use all LED's anyway so a few more should look even better. OH I found the 3 lights LED's for tail lights but there like $68 each But what the hell I'm going to get them the Bucks $$$ is starting to add up anyway.........I'm looking at more like $3000 instead of the $2000 I first thought...... so ...OH well.

Well... The radiator finally arrived. Made in China... looks cheap too. ![]() So... for now... I ended up having to pull the shroud. I'll probably end up installing an electric fan and temp sensor. It's supposed to get you a little better mileage and I had thought about it last year when I had to replace the fan clutch. Of course... I thought about it after I already made the swap. So, there's the update. We'll make it work. Oh yea, I forgot, the outlet is 1-1/2 inch instead of an 1-3/4 like the old one, so I need to get a hose reducer too. ![]() |
