The new toilet has been installed and does not leak! And yes I put on that new rubber gasket thingy and once I tightened it down I sat on it and found that it needed to be tightened more.

Yay! It's very important to have a properly-functioning toilet.

I have found that I am able to do a lot of things now that my soon-to-be ex husband used to do around here. Now with him gone, I found that I can actually do the things he used to do.

Never thought that I would ever get the chance to have my own class C or be able to go camping again.

What's nice is your Tioga bathroom is clean! The one in my rig was used to hold the BBQ grills, and the previous owner never emptied them before he stored them there. That bath was a MESS! But at least it wasn't the kind of mess it might have been! LOL

This is AFTER a thorough bleach scrub-down, and all the better it'll ever get!

As you have learned, bleach will not remove rust. I suggest trying vinegar or lemon juice. Test these first on a small area as they may damage the shine. You can also try a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Make sure the hydrogen peroxide is fresh as it has a pretty short shelf life. Definately stay away from Lime-Away as it will etch the surface. Also make sure you have adeqate ventilation--lots of it.

Sister, nice work... on your curtains, my wife built new ones for ours. She picked fabric out to match interior and then used an off white muslin fabric to line them with. Inside shows the color fabric, looking from the outside shows the muslin. They do a good job reflecting heat and improving privacy factor. She is currently building the cushion covers for ours as well. Congrats again on all your fine work.

I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere!

It is good to see that I am not the only one with a all in one bathroom. My 16 year old son calls it the 3-S bathroom, sit, shower and shave at the same time..[emoticon][emoticon]

The bathroom in my rig, I was told that they never used it, at least not the toilet.

I did crawl under the rig last night and it looks like I have a very small black tank next to a much larger gray tank. The metal elbow coming out of the gray tank is cracked, the black tank is fine.

The lever to open the gray tank is stuck closed, looks like an easy fix.

I had someone tell me that they 'think' that JB Weld can be used on the cracked elbow..

I am not sure about if this would work or not. It is not a major leak, and it has a small drip here and there.

So, what would you all do? Replace the gray tank or try the JB Weld to see if that is a quick fix?

I need to figure out what type of material to use to make new curtains. I am tempted to use thermal or insulated fabric similar to the kind of curtains I have in my house.

I made the Travco curtains from auto upholstery.
Light in color, but heavy enough material to keep it warm /cool, depending.

Try craigslist or ebay for upholstery fabric.
I really do NOT recommend using foam-backed fabric in an RV.

Why?
Condensation from shower, sink, A/C and outside temps/ barometer will work to break down the foam backing, leaving shredded and useless curtains.
