Topic: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

^^Holy crap, where were you camping. We went to Sleepy Hollow State Park, and had planned to stay till Sunday morning, but packed it in between storms on Saturday evening and headed home.

We were out at Ravenna. The same place my son races sprint karts at has a campground with electric and water up front. We didn't realize it was going to rain quite that much. lol. Not quite the initial excursion we were hoping for, but an adventure none the less. The owners are also friends we enjoy spending time with, plus, they have adopted numerous kids and now have probably 8 kids around my kids ages who enjoy having someone else around to play with.

Ye gods! I thought we'd had a lot of rain last week...phew.

Glad everything other than that went okay, though....

Well... it is still parked at the campsite. I'm thankful we drove two vehicles out as my truck still has the generator sitting in the back of it. My 4 wheel drive almost got stuck at one point, and we had to pull 3 other trucks out. The area used to be a lake a generation or two ago... it's very flat, and still has a very high water table. Summer it's fine, but in the spring right after all the snow melts, and the rains come... well... it runs out of places to be soaked up rather quickly.

^^well I worked on the old girl a little more last night. I changed out the spark plugs. 6 of the 8 where the proper color and everything, 2 where very discolored and looked fowled. They were the 2 middle ones on the passenger side, so I believe that would cylinders #4 and #6. So that is it is now idling smoother than ever, not that it idled bad before. Also I noticed the choke plate not opening up all the way. That is now fixed. So maybe a little more toward some better performance. But 60mph is plenty fast with a jeep being towed 4 down behind me.

Hi Ya'll, I got some work done on my roof over past weeks. I patched/filled the holes, installed new (used) elixer vents, a skylight over drivers/passenger cab, sealed my roof seams with reinforcement fiberglass tape and some kool-seal patch cement. she needs a good power washing with TSP and she'll be ready for 2 coats of white kool-seal. I'm planning on replacing the water pump soon possibly with This pump. anyone ever used a pump from harbor freight? would it be too strong or not strong enough?

Getting some pictures soon before I redo the roof and will be taking before photos on the bunk area.

Have Safe and enjoyable (rain free) travels.

Maybe too strong? I think mine is 3.2 gpm, that one comes out to about 4. But I think mine is too strong, and I usually barely turn the water on. I don't think mine was much more than the harbor freight version, so why not look and some the the purpose built RV pumps like this one.

Thinking about it... I wonder if the harbor freight model has auto shut off. I.e. if the pump is on, and a faucet isn't on, will will pump continue to run until you manually turn it off? I notice the HF model lists that it puts out about 10 psi, but the Shurflow lists it shuts down at 40 psi, and doesn't mention a running psi.

I appreciate the link Eyeteeth. That shurflo is $62.90 shipped, while the HF is $39 picked-up in local store. [emoticon] That auto shutoff worth $22? hmmm

Thanks

Well, you need to answer that question for yourself.

For me, the DW, and my kids. Definitely. I'm still contemplating replacing the working pump that's less GPM just for convenience. There's some creature comforts that are nice to have. Another one I'm thinking I shouldn't have gone quite so cheap on in hindsight, is the water heater. It would have been nice to have electronic ignition so I didn't have to get out and manually light it. It would have been nice this last couple of weekends while the camper was in a "shallow lake" and we couldn't get to it to light it.

If you have a Harbor Freight, I'm pretty sure you have a Camping supply store somewhere as close. No shipping plus they always have stuff on sale.

Just my thoughts...
