Nice, eyeteeth. Leeann's right, you did good plus you won't have to work on it for awhile. Uh, yes, as a matter of fact, I am STILL waiting for my Honda's module. |

I'm VERY happy having an Onan, Looking at different specs, pros/cons and my desires. I pretty decided it was going to be an Onan. Running at half the RPM of any of the others was a major deciding factor. I woulda liked to find one cheaper, but as you can see from the photo, the Genset was thoroughly gone through. I just would have preferred to have paid a little less. I got it, with proper header, exhaust, and a 20' wiring harness with hour meter for remote start for just over $900. I had set aside a grand. All I'll need is fuel line, and to figure out how to mount it.

The $900 really isn't bad, especially since it's been recently serviced and cleaned. And comes with exhaust and wiring, too! That really is great. And yes, running at 1800 rpm is a wonderful thing...they just chug along. The Emerald is quieter than the CCK, but the CCK isn't so loud (we're quieter than many RVs with newer gensets). Lemme see if I can find it, but I have Onan's specs for mounting RV gensets as a PDF somewhere... '73 Concord 20' Class A w/Dodge 440 - see profile for photo |

Leeanne That's awesome! Thanks. Tucked away for later reference. Here's my latest project... new kitchen counter. The one that I had was way off level, and falling apart... chipped.... warped... As usual, I did lousy with before or during photos. It was a real challenge though because of all the shimming I had to do, and some of the "work around" repairs as the drawers had fallen and were tough to use, and the shelf under the sink was barely held on... couldn't support weight... the stove wasn't level... ugh.... I still need to caulk, add a splash guard, and find some rubber molding trim. Other than that, all better now. ![]() |

When I bought my MH in Sept, I used a "regular" outdoor extension cord to plug onto my house and work the air conditioner in the MH. In late November before covering it up, I ran the AC via the generator and no cold air came out. Upon reading posts on this site, I have saw where you should use the thicker cord for the AC and not the regular orange outdoor cord. I hope I did not destroy the air conditoner. ![]() Whew! I took my cover off today and ran the air conditioner. It came out with ice cold air. Nice work on the counter. We just got home from the first shake down trip of the year. All went well. 75 mile trip out and home. We towed the Jeep just to see how it would do on a longer trip than we tried earlier. I got the cruise adjusted as well last week. So once on the freeway it took a bit to get up to 60 mph but we set the cruise and it held that speed for the most part, small hills would slow it down a little. But all went well it ran down the road good and everything. Everything worked, we will be good to go for our big trip this year. Cab air is working now too. |
