I can't wait to see the finished product. I love the exterior configuration of those MH's.

See Picture In My Profile
I have a 1989 Dodge XPLORER RV Class B - Purchased 10/15/10 IN CASH
Fiance' purchased a Class C 2002 Dynamax Carri-go on 5/1/15 IN CASH
We've got the best of both worlds

Ok, I know some have used Airbags to level the rear of the motorhome. I only need about an inch on the left side. Has anybody used these? http://www.monroe.com/products/maxair.asp

I can get them for the front and the rear. I have them on the rear of my Jeep cherokee and they work good for when I trailer with that truck.

Thanks

How to feel stupid... For a couple years convinced I had 9" vents in my camper. We decided to measure them today. :| So... uh... well... issue averted? lol. sheesh.

(Dumber yet? Sharing this on an internet forum.)

Don't feel bad about your vents... everyone has now seen how bad the Travco looks in its old paint. Just think, I drove it 300 miles like that!

See my way-cool handmade new front screen door? Joe made that.

He also made those sweet poplar cabinets in the kitchen. Apparently the old kitchen (which I was ready to settle for + some paint) irked his sensibilities so he made that new kitchen for --are you ready?-- $100.

What color? An almost flat black. It'll match my truck (seen through the kitchen window) and I like flat black. Silver roof, silver window tint, black wheels (sorry, Eric) w/ chrome lug covers. My new Michelins and 17.5 wheels are that big pile in front of the Travco.

It's going to look great Trish,,, congrats....

I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere!

I am sure it has been mentioned somewhere on this huge thread. Does anyone know of a website to get parts for our old Dodges? My 1976 needs a new side mirror that is 1/8 rusted.

Also, maybe someone has a certain type paint suggestion for this.

Thanks,

About your mirrors. I have been lucky enough to have 2 scavenger yards nearby that have 70's era vans that I have been scoring body parts and trim off of. The local parts house "Pep-Boys" has new mirrors that match my origionals. I love your rig, lots more room than mine. Keep on Rving......

I did not think of Pep Boys and I will also check out the junk yards. Thanks for your response.

That's a lot of surface area to be black, Trish. Although it'll be infinitely cool, are you certain you want that much thermal mass? I can't believe how hot my white and green gets!

Also Trish, I was walking the dog back on our property and found a set of your wheels! The big 6 lug duallys lying in a heap amongst other junk so typical of older farms. Shall I drive the tractor back there and bring them to the house for you for spares? I can sawzall off the rotted tires for easier transport...

Eric

H*LL yes! Now these are 1-pc 16s, right?
Trust me, last thing I need is another set of split rims.

Yeah, it'll be warm, but what else to do about the cracked gel coat. Nothing will cover it short of investing 20thouand in paint and you have got to be kidding.
Flat black with a silver roof is all I can think of. Had considered semi-gloss white, but the PO left too many "bad body spots" that will only magnify under white.

Structurally, the Travco's now better than it's been since the PO hacked into it, you would not believe some of the dumba@@ things he did. Or did not fix correctly. Sheesh.
