MD doesn't, either. My historical tags are up next month, actually - they're 2 year tags at slightly more than 1/4 of the price of standard SUV/pickup truck tags.

Yeah MI has the historical tag which is good for 10 years and is $30 for that time.

MD is a ripoff....$51 for 2 years. Still much, much better than car ($138) or truck/SUV ($180). I don't want to know what standard RV plates cost here.

Here in Northern CA it was a brisk 33 this morning but warmed up to the low 70's by noon. I'm taking the rig over to the wine country (Napa) tomorrow on a test run before I go up the coast this weekend. I recently installed a new stereo and added speakers to the rear of the camper. It may rain but at least it's not snow. Nothing like mild winters to encourage a good road trip.

One year tag in Idaho, you have to pay for the vehicle registration, on my older rig not bad at around 29.00. Then you pay a recreational vehicle fee based on value of your vehicle... my old rig is the minimum of 8.50 but some run into the hundreds for the fancy ones.. you pay this on mt homes, travel trailers, pop ups whatever they class as an RV. Another good reason to drive these old Dodges... lower registation fees... I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere! |

And my tire of choice is the bf goodrich commercial t/a all season, any problems with these tires are they quiet and smooth as many say. ![]() When I was still planning to use 16" rims, I was planning to use LT235/85R16 tires. The 235 mm width and 85% aspect ratio gave me the maximum tire diameter. (I plan to spend a lot of time 'off-pavement' so extra ground clearance is nice.) Now that I've switched to 17" rims, I'll be going with LT235/80R17 tires. I'm planning to use Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor tires due to their snow rating. (I'm in Alaska, where the four seasons are June, July, August, and winter.) I'll be getting a little extra tire noise but the gaining 'off-pavement' and winter traction, which suits my needs. P.S. I've spent enough time in northern climates (Minnesota and Alaska) to be convinced there's no such thing as an 'all season' tire ... I hear the climate differs a bit when you get farther south ... I have my new rims, but still haven't gotten tires. 235/85 16 actually fit in teh front fenders???? The wheels for my fronts had 245/75/16 Michelins on them, and there was NO WAY they'd fit in there. I need the smallest diameter, at least D rated tires for my front. Any recommendations? I'm not worried about the rears, plenty of space in there, and since I have to carry two different spares anyway... She ain't purdy, but at least she's slow! ![]() |

Power, Your rig has different rims for front and back both? Because mine does too, was this common on these old dodges, or is this just normal for a class C?

It's common on the old dually Dodges, which includes Class Cs. The El Dorado ('75 Class C on a dually Sportsman chassis) had different rims front & back, too.

So who has any big road trips planned for their "classic" dodges. We have one that is 550 mile away first day then work our way home over a week seeing the sights.
