You can do it, really not any harder than putting down the laminate flooring and you guys did great on that. A.

Yeah, sure....[emoticon]

That was reasonably easy, though. Honest. I'm sure it's not terrible, it's just out of my normal area of expertise (and a PITA).

I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere!

Getting close to the end of camping here... just a couple more weekends, then we go south for a bit.

A few more updates. Installed the custom speedo cable I had made, a new fuel pump, and a new coil. We weren't able to replace the belts as a bolt was frozen. Unfortunately, the speedo still wasn't working. [emoticon] I know it's not the cable as the needle moved properly when I spun the cable with a drill.

The furnace is almost working great. When it's cold I have to "choke" it. Inevitably, at some point during the night.. I have to go outside and do it again. Usually at like 2:30, 3:00 o'clock in the morning.

Apart from that, we're still enjoying it every weekend.

About the speedo...sounds like the speedo gear in the tranny might be bad.

It does now. The old cable was definitely a problem and had to go anyway. Cracked, exposed, missing 8 inches or so of any covering, and wouldn't turn for nothing.

eyeteeth... I know yours is a '79 and mine is a '78 but should be similar for what I need. How hard was it to get the old casing out from the speedo and the dash? I ask only because I need to get mine out to clean all the old grease out mine and re-lube it sometime this year.

OK, this is really momentous...

Nearly 300 pages of reply posts to a thread I started
by asking if I was the only nut on the tree. You folks
are the greatest! Indeed, we are mighty upon the earth.
The dust from our Pentastar Caravan hides the travels of
the sun itself!!

Thank you all, for who you are, and for confirming that
a message in a bottle like this thread once was, has been
replied to by so many others with their own "bottles". It
truly seems that we are not alone in this world, nor are we
alone in our desires and pursuits, and the reason we hold
for them. We demonstrate the true spirit of ingenuity that
makes us unique, whether on the roads of our nation, or our
lives. I am honored beyond words to see this, and be part of
it.

Our Group Mantra: "Mine's paid for. Is yours?"
A song that fits this group: the Police's "Message in a Bottle"

May God bless...
