Griff in Fairbanks wrote: ![]() I happen to know someone who has two front endcaps just laying around unneeded. (Two rears also.) One (set) is from a 1970 Explorer Class A and the other (set) is from a 1973 Explorer Class A. I know that guy, too. |

My wheels. I got this 69 Travco with split rims that really need replaced --or will, might as well do it now. Why buy 14 tires when 7 will do? On May 1st, I ordered 7 solid rims from Stockton Wheel. Website said they were 139 ea, raw steel. OK. Nope, Stockton says they are 164. ea, painted + 34.50 shipping each. Then Stockton said "$25 fee just 'cause." Then Stockton said "pre-paid." On May 2d, I gave Stockton Wheel (through the dealership, who is NOT at fault for any of this) $1461-and-change. Stockton's salesman (Frank) said "4 to 6 weeks" that same day. Not happy, but hey, I understand they probably don't have 6-bolt Travco rims just laying around. Wednesday, June 4th,Randy (tire dude) called me. I was delighted, figured my wheels had come. NOPE. Stockton said "another month." I am NOT happy. |

That's OK Trish, you'll have your rig on the road just in time to put it away for the season... GRRRRRRRRRR But at least, you'll have modern stuff, and that's always a good thing. Ummm, you painting them RED? ![]() |
