Topic: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

Posted By: ALnCORY on 11/16/07 10:42am

I remember my dad telling me that he could have bought all the model T fords he wanted for 10 bucks apiece when he was in high school. But he said we didn't want one because there were such better cars available then. He said if we had only known.... lol

I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere!

Sometimes things are 'rare' because they weren't a good idea to start with. And more often, things become rare because people dont' have the good sense to see the value in parts.

Long ago, my father had a carburator distributorship and he built racing carbs. Dual, triple set-ups and all that, this is right after the War and into the 50's.

What he had the sense to keep was every busted, non-working Stromberg carburator he came across. I mean LOTS of Strombergs... a 10x14 box of Strombergs.... fuel blocks, intakes (finned of course), needles and mains.
Now what are they worth?
Enough to take Margaret and I to Nova Scotia every 2 years.
Enough to fix IT and take us there comfortably next trip.

None of those carbs count the "whole" 97s knocking around in their original boxes, either....

Man, I hate people sometimes....

I think I'm going to get a wee bit teary eyed. Maybe the MagicBus will find a good home with Trish? It can be parked next to its litter mate and exchange stories - or at least some windows.

ahhh, what a beautiful story... sniff...

Since everyone knows how much I believe in "parts," maybe I will...*g*
If Doc Rob'll take double his money, I sure will!

Hey, I had 2 HD SuperGlides at once, I now have 2 pickup trucks, my dad had 2 '34 Ford 3Windows --the Roadster and the Coupe. Why not keep the family heritage of packratting alive and well?

Besides, they'd be so cute, all snuggled together.

I am goin to a burnout with my RV, tomorrow, I hope I can do it, now that would be cool to all the smoke coming from the rear tires.

But, Doc, I won't go any higher.

Of course not. You bought low and want to sell high.
I bought low enough that I can afford to keep IT.

I shoot defenseless animals, then I butcher and eat them. Yum.
