Topic: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

Posted By: ALnCORY on 11/05/07 03:58pm

LeeAnn, did you glue your laminate floor down or put the foam layer down and just overlay it? I have a friend who put a parket laminate floor in his rig and glued it down. Just curious as I will be putting wood flooring in mine eventually.... thanks A.

I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere!

Floating - no glue, no nails. Installed over the thick plastic moisture barrier.

With expansion area all around, and the molding will cover the gaps.

Hello everybody.

I am excited beyond belief about something.
We are not that far away from 200 pages!!! This thread
indeed has a life of its own! And it's all because of
posters like you. I am grateful to be able to associate
with those of you who regularly greet new folk, answer the
questions raised by those coming here, and give of yourselves
in so many ways in this, our little community in Cyberspace.
Thank you, and God bless you all!! Without all of you this
thread would be meaningless. You give it life and purpose.
And it rightly belongs to all of us, not just one, or a few.

I hope, here very soon, that I will be able to ask different
ones of you to share in a larger way your wisdom with all of
RV.Net. There is much we have to offer, and I look forward to
seeing advancement of our community in the days to come.
I sincerely feel we constitute a unique market, as owners and
maintainers of older RV's. Our market should be addressed and
served as others here in RV.Net, not only because of our uniqueness
but also because of our growing number. Even to this day I remain amazed that a simple query I posted to receive an answer to, has
become what it is. It shows no sign of slowing down, or stopping.
There are many of us among the general population who hold to this common interest, therefore it is not unreasonable to expect, sooner or later that; we will be approached and offered products and services
that coincide with and serve our interests.

Thank you all, once again. This has been, and continues to be, the
dream I keep pinching myself over to make sure I'm real. I think, if
there had to be a theme song for all this, it would be The Police's
"Message in a Bottle". Truly I'm not alone in all of this, now am I?

your fellow traveler on the Highway of Life,

Mark, whiteknight001

For those of you that are having problems with your Dodge 440 distributors, those miles of wires, ballast resistor, bad connections, etc. there is a solution,, I installed a new 52000 series magnetic breakerless distributor from [Accel], it is a simple [3 wire hook up, no ballast resistor needed], and ran a straight wire from ignition to a new upgrade coil and it runs great, simple and easy to repair and my idle was 150 rpm's higher with new distributor, motorhome now runs faster and appears to be getting better fuel mileage so far.. partsamerica.com sells the unit for $384.00,, part number 52300, [Accel Distributor]...:B

hola, Dr Rob!

Neat Travco. glad to see another one.
And, yeah, I'll take that rt rr cargo door off your hands, no problem...

Shocks are Monroe (search this thread for the #s); Leeann got new ones for her Concord and mine came in yesterday.

Brakes are all NAPA, yell at me, I have the brake catalog.

See mopartruckworld.com, mopar rv thread for the bleeding procedure. Trust me on this --follow it! Thanks to Griff for that advice. It is literally a life-saver.

Foretravel (800-955-6226) has new window rubber, talk to Mike Grimes; do NOT buy "my" window rubber....*g*

Hey, this other one... Let me know (PM) what's good on it, we can deal. Also snag some window rubber for yourself when you're there. Window and door rubber is rare as hens teeth, but harder to find.

Doc-- take an inside picture of your roof vent for me, would you?
Please......

Neat-O rig, I love it.

Leeanne that looks very very nice. Looks like another of your talents shines through! I love that you just floated it.

AlnCory how is your doghouse coming along? I found a couple extra of the little plastic square floor inserts if you need one.

Dr! Welcome! What a find...and so puuuuuurdddddddy!

Oh, here's a thing.

Everyone knows about my cracked drivers windshield and that I can get another one for 350, very good.
And that I need flip-over dinette seats.
And that I am stringently adhering to my budget--sort of a game with myself.

Foretravel has window rubber for me, full windshield and new sides about 400.

That's 750 for all new rubber and good glass. Not bad when half windshields are going for 1000.

BUT. And this is the killer bit, for that same amount, there's a 210 on craigslist. Whole thing. Bad tires, no alternator.
ALL the godawful expensive glass, the dinette, enough replacement parts to keep my Travco happy the next 30 years.

But it's in Michigan.
Quick, I need consolation.

Full 210. No doubt.

Replacement parts goooooooooooood.
