Anyone want a fairly complete list of stock Mopar engines? (Leeann left out two small blocks and one big block.) (And, I've heard of bored and stroked LA small blocks in the 440 range ... but not OEM stock.) 1970 Explorer Class A on a 1969 Dodge M300 chassis with 318 cu. in. Leeann - those things you have on the east coast are called hills ... if you want to see mountains, come to Alaska. ![]() My aunt, who lives in the DC area, thought all the hills around Fairbanks where mountains ... until she saw Thompson Pass. |

Yeah, yeah - tell that to the motorhome! Mostly going through western Pennsylvania.... I left a couple out on purpose as I've never heard of the others being installed in motorhomes. So there! '73 Concord 20' Class A w/Dodge 440 - see profile for photo |

We have some nice mountain passes in Idaho also, but the "hills" in western Penn, and West Virginia can slow you down plenty. I do love Alaska though, haven't even been to the interior where Griff is yet. Maybe next trip. Read the 98.00 paint job story, lots of work. Mine isn't so faded that I think I will just wax it up and leave it at that.... A.
I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere! |

OK Guys and Girls, Here I go again. As mentioned before, I really only have about 300 miles on my rig and been looking for leaks and such. I haven't found one till today when plowing around. Geeez the things you can find to mess with if you got the time.....LOL. I do not have my "Dodge Service Manual" yet LeeAnn, so bare with me OK.... ![]() ![]() Gear box off the steering column. I did have a major lube job done on this rig when I bought it so this may be like "overflow"? But don't like the looks of it. Steering does have some play and have heard no noises (as if I could over this ROAR from the tires....LOL. Any comments? I do not think this should look like this, but could the "LUBE JOB" be a possible culprit? Gary Webb Phoenix, AZ ![]() |

(Power steering fluid often seeps by the seals in the steering gearbox.) More often than not, steering play is loose tie rods or ball joints/kingpins. (Or, underinflated tires.) I'd look there first. I'd leave the gearbox alone unless you want a pristine, just-like-new rig. Oh, BTW, the picture was a tremendous help!! ![]() |
