Topic: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

Yeah I think that the PO or his shadetree thought they had a torque wrench for a hand, maybe! I dont plan to touch them.

If I get a torque wrench can I carefully test them?

Otherwise I should just get gasket sealer and put it in the problem area? That may just do the trick...

Me?...Ak born and raised in the Pole. Last summer spent 2 months and 10,000 miles exploring. Even drove the Haul road without incident!

glw, thanks...I am looking for the rubber seal on the floor that is inbetween the floor and the edge of the doghouse, not insulation. It looks like door seal or weatherstripping.

CENOTE, There was one place I found and got some window and door seals for my '77 dodge, might wanna check with him.....

glw, we also had a Chinook - but the word is "had." DH is not handy (nor am I) and it needed constant repairs. (We owned it in the early 1980s.) Nifty little MH, but I guess we're not the vintage type.

Cenote,
Best bet is move the propane line. Yeah, it IS very stable (compared to acetylene, say), but still. Just move it, pay for new copper line and be done with it. Make sure the fittings are not leaking and are steel, not aluminum; you do not want to be driving a propane bomb.

Who said dogbox weatherstripping?
Get the JCW stuff. No sense trying to cheap out, I did so on the Merc (couldn't find any) and the trunk leaked terrible. Bee-otch finding weatherstripping for a '41; worse yet was what the water did to my gasoline regulator and new wires.

Or... Look in the junkyard for a length that isn't nasty --torn, flat. Yep, pull it right off. I did that for my Ford truck doors, works great 2 yrs later.

Hi Trish!

Well you were right on the money...spent the afternoon at the junkyard.

Got some nice insulation and all sorts of doghouse seal. There were a few that were decent from mid 70's vans, but I think that I am going to go with a Ford seal (oh my!) that I grabbed as well.

That junkyard was lame.
Luckily though everything was free!

I do agree and have every intention to move the propane line. I am trying to troubleshoot the propane conversion. If I cant get it up and running then I plan to just remove it.

Oh...btw the doghouse seal is still stocked by dodge. They have to look it up in their archives to find the part number. Many will tell you that it is not available. That is not true. I have the part number and will post it when I find it if anyone wants to go that way. It is $65.

I had no luck finding a comparable seal gasket weatherstripping at auto parts stores, auto body shops, hardware stores and even junk stores.

Some door seals are similar and might be cheaper new than $65.

I thought I would find something somewhere but I did not. Even online.

Don't most people call those 'parking lots'?? [emoticon]

Check JCW for B100/B200/B300 seals.

Well, I did it. Bought me a 74 Brougham on a sportsman chassis,360 engine. Needs some work but for $400 I thought why not. It has been sitting for a while, but pumped it a few times it fired right up and ran fairly smooth considing. Tranny shifts very smooth. I am not as worried about cabin upgrades(I built Kit trvl trailers 30 years ago) but not a great mechanic. Will probably be asking lots of questions of you all. Gotta clean it up first then see what I have.. see you on the road (eventually).... Al

I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere!
