And Ma taught us to share things... hee hee!! M Aww. I'm touched. Really. Well, it sure would explain a lot.... Griff, thanks. But I know... Oh how well I know. 78 LeBaron, 79 St Regis (I loved that car), 72 Monaco. Each taught me something new about Chrysler durability and each taught me the fellas at Dodge would get bored an play "hide the ballast resistor" on unsuspecting owners. Yes, the Monaco was a tank. I liked it so much, I bought it back off the guy I sold it to. The St Regis is still running around local. Ass-end of the LeBaron was sitting on the ground in the junkyard 3 yrs ago. |

Phew...we finally got all 3 tanks completely hooked up, the mechanical fuel pump removed and the electric fuel pumps working. Starts easier and runs better...and doesn't flood the motor, either ![]() We'll be playing with the setting on the fuel pressure regulator, but so far, all is good. Heh....I didn't do anything ![]() The bf did all the work...I just sat there in my blue chair and 'supervised.' ![]() We sealed up the 2 spots on the roof. Turns out, the really leaky spot at the back was the factory's fault. Under the fiberglass tape and black roof tar goo (that looks factory-installed) were 3 incorrectly drilled holes. With nothing in them. We sealed 'em up and put eternabond over top....the damp spot at the front was just due to the fiberglass tape stuff coming up slightly. We've fixed that, too. Hey, Griff! Got your DSL back yet? |

Fixed the wiring issue. I removed both taillights... (good thing) and it was definitely screwy. I have to conclude in almost 30 years, I'm first one to pull a trailer with it. I found what appeared to be the original splices behind one of the taillights, (first time finding crunchy electrical tape) and from that... It looked OK. But because I had both lights off, I was able to figure out the problem... green went to green... white to white, yellow to yellow... only on the RV, Green turned out to be the ground, yellow was the passenger side, RED was the driver side, and black was the running lights. Put new wire in, hooked everything back up, and the trailer is happy now. Plus I'm feeling much better pulling it around now. |

(Yes, I saw you joined ... that's the only place left for Charley to hang out ... and he misses your motorhome shenanigans as much as mine.) 79powerwagen - Back off ... I got second dibs on Leeann! (I assume her BF has first dibs.) eyeteeth - Ain't old trucks fun? Anything more than ten years old has a 50/50 chance of screwed up wiring ... the older it is, the greater the chance that someone did some "creative" wiring ... the official name for name for fixing the wiring is "unf***ing the truck". In most houses, green is ground, white is neutral, and black (and red) are hot ... you'll find that coding on the 120/240 circuits in your motorhome sometimes. 1970 Explorer Class A on a 1969 Dodge M300 chassis with 318 cu. in.
