Topic: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

Eric - back to your carb issue.

What year / motor do you have again?

Go http://www.carburetorfactory.com/illus1.html and lemme know what your carb looks like and I'll find the pages in the manual for you.

If you have a 360, you might just have a Holley 2210; in that case, I've got the Holley manual for that in PDF form. We had the CA/lean burn version (2245) on the El Dorado. For the others, I can scan the svc manual...

Hmmm....'78 or '79 440, right? You shouldn't have a 2-barrel on that...it should have come with a ThermoQuad...

I thought I would try this picture posting.
This is my rig: 1977 Chinook on a Dodge 360 Chassis. I purchased it on July 24th, 2007. Pretty much gone through it the last month. Ready to hit the road.

Looking good, everything finally working. Just gotta find time to get it on the road...[emoticon]

Pretty nice! I know about the "mess when I bought it" part...I think our seller could have gotten at least $500 more for it if he'd actually attempted to clean it [emoticon]

I wouldn't have expected a 4-burner stove in a Chinook; that's pretty cool. And everything looks like it's in great shape.

Well this was an old guy (Opps did I say that...LOL) in his 80's, he and his wife just gave up hitting the road. I got it for $4500 his asking price and Yes I would have given him probably another $1000, had he cleaned it up.

Fridge was a disaster, Stove was so cruddy, it took 2 days of soaking and scrubbing, entire thing was filty, had been sitting for a year or so.

Good engine/Rad., trans. and brand new tires though, was a good start....

Not that much work to get it on the road...and the $$$ I saved...*).

P.S. Good Air unit too........LOL

Hehehehehe....we spent a whole $811 (with generator) on ours. But the fridge was just a tall dorm fridge (clean, though) and we put that in the El Dorado to sell it as we had just bought a 3-way fridge - really, really clean - up the road from us. The stovetop needed some cleaning but mostly scrubbing (rusty); the oven was pristine. The sink and countertop needed to be cleaned, but it really didn't take much elbow grease. Same with the bathroom. There was some mold on the base of the dinette, but that cleaned up with a bleach solution and a wipe (no scrub necessary).

Really, it was just laziness and neglect. And cost him $$$.

Our rad had recently been replaced and the engine only needed basic tuneup stuff - now it runs like a dream. We found tires on Craigslist - on a Winnie that was going to be junked - already mounted on the same size one-piece rims so we just switched 'em out for ours. The shocks were cheap and the tranny and brakes are solid. All in all, we got a heckuva deal, I think. Even with all the work we've done and still have to do. Besides, it's fun to work on it [emoticon]

I'm jealous of the good air unit - ours works rather well, but it's undersized at 10,000 btu - it cools okay while stationary, but is nowhere near enough while moving. And we have no dash air. We'll be upsizing over the winter sometime (bf wants a 15,000 btu unit with a scroll compressor for efficiency and reduced water mess on the roof).

Now ya went and made me jealous....[emoticon], sounds like a heck of a deal! I wanted something small like this, as it is only me and my 2 sons that ever go out. Mainly weekend fishin trips and that ole Tent, just ain't workin for me any more....[emoticon]

I only go out 6-8 times a year at most, and at that rate, this thing will out last me...LOL. Easy to handle and get around in.

Oh by the way, when it was 107 out the other day we were at the shooting range, nice and (66degrees) in the RV..........[emoticon]

Anyway, you have a good night...I gotta hit it. I owe, I owe. so.....
