I'm retiring from motorhoming and am selling my 2015 Tiffin Open Road 32SA if you are interested. It has everything and has always been stored under cover! Low mileage.
I wouldn't pay more than $45,000 for a 10 year old motorhome, then it would have to be low millage and excellent shape.

Johnny T GREAT post!!! Well thought out. The older rigs of Winnebago, Newmar, Tiffen Itasca are well made and reliable for the most part. USED to be Fleetwood so you have to go back more time to them well made. WE have owned 3 rigs, Winnebago Adventurer bought in 1999 and it was a 1994 unit, a 2002 Sunnybrook fifthwheel bought in 2003 still have her and she has NEVER had a serious problem until last summer and it had a crack high up in the grey water tank so no biggy. AND bought a 2003 Newmar Motorhome in 2017 to travel in since we decided to put the Sunntybrook Fiver on a seasonal site. I LOVED each one and own tow still and welll made.

I assume that most first-time RV shoppers have the same complaints:
Why are the paint jobs so ugly; I have seen numerous posts and comments from veterans and industry members that complain about the hideous aesthetics as well.
Given the numerous drawbacks of slideouts, why is there only ONE Class A or Class C+ that has a floor plan w/o them? I appreciate that most buyers want them--but only ONE model?! I would resign myself to an ugly paint job, but won't buy one w/ a slideout under any circumstances--and don't really want the gas Coachmen that comes w/o.
When I was a child, we had a 1980 Bluebird motorhome w/ an attractive paintjob and no slides--if there was a contemporary comparable model, I would purchase--well if it was diesel and was $200K or less.
Captains chairs behind the driver would be ideal--but I know this will never happen.
If the Leisure Travel Van Serentity was 30-35 feet--this would be ideal.
Do any of the manufacturers offer any floor plan customization? My research hasn't turned any up. A Class or Super C.

You make a good point.
We made out ok buying a 1993 GBM (32') with the 454 gas engine (91K miles) and a 5 year old factory rebuild transmission back in 2007 for $7995 after the kids age 9 asked for a MH. We did change spark plugs and the transmission fluid and worked on the house in the driveway and made several trips before our 8K mile (30 day) trip from KY to the Pacific coast in 2011 and the kids on their 14th birthday got to learn how to get up on a surf board in Carlsbad, CA. Now that the kids are 22 and getting on with life I need to get it out of the driveway I guess.
The wife home schooled the kids and I used the old MH to teach home and auto repair so the MH worked out well for us.
$20K should get a nice gas motor home and not have any $20K repair bills like is possible with an old DP. While the MH never left us on the side of the road my plan was to rent a PU or van and load up the stuff and kids and sign over the title to someone and head back to KY if we had serious problems or an accident.
Everyone is different so there is no advice that works for others. New or old motor homes are basically money pits but that is not a concern for some but it was in our case.
With that being said I would do it over again for the sake of the kids. I read that COVID-19 is driving up the demand for RV's in general.

I am looking to buy my first DP Class A. I have utilized and applied as much of the amazing information provided on this site and have settled on a coach I would like to buy. The unit is a’08 County Coach Inspire Sienna 36’. In this forums opinion what would be a good deal. The asking price is $129,000.
How much would be a good counter offer. Would a price drop of 35-40% be reasonable starting point.

We just bought a class A 2007 Fleetwood Revolution it is 40' has a 500HP Cat engine, the interior is in excellent condition really nice couches, beautiful cabinets, older TV's, a bath and a half and we paid $85,000. To me the coach you are looking at seems very high priced Good luck

I’m looking at Country Coach as well. The country coach seems to be a much better build quality than Fleetwood coaches.
Also, used and list prices are consistently higher on the Country Coach.
