My SIL had to be tested prior to a procedure and it was done at the hospital a day or so in advance as part of the procedure.
Also, both Walgreens and CVS offer tests which can be scheduled and would be covered by medicare. Lots of details on their websites.

Thanks to BCSnob I now have the information needed to make a decision about a third vaccination. A second mRNA jab of Moderna atop a primer of Sinovac. There are just too many billions of unvaccinated and partially vaccinated "world-wide walking Petri Dishes" to expect no further virus mutations.
And everyone down here except for isolated indigenous, enthusiastically line up for the vaccine. There just is too little mRNA and too much Sinovac available. There are no vaccine or mask protests. Yesterday I went to Costco. My temperature was scanned at the door, member numbers were limited and mask rules are strictly enforced.

I have a suspicion mRNA evolution is going to expand exponentially in controlling viral mutagens. H5N1 for example. I personally rate RNA manipulation as one of the key discoveries of the century. 50 years ago it could have been Science Fiction. Fellow alumni keep me posted about almost unbelievable advances in RNA fragment research underway in South San Francisco labs. Not themselves -- their children. We oldsters are obsolete.
I feel strongly the general public has not been made aware of the enormous contribution that researchers have made in viral control techniques. Until that magic threshold has been breached quenching probability of mutation you will remain overwhelmed I fear. But kudos for uncompensated success!

Down here the public adopted "cubrebocas" (face masks), limits on numbers of people in stores, distancing, and saturating vaccination sites with participants.
Despite the prevalence of the Delta virus, infection totals, hospitalizations, ICU cases, intubations, and fatalities are dropping daily in reporting cities and towns.
It's tough to argue against cold hard numbers.
I chat with National health care surgeons, and they all confirm the above. Masks, density limits, distance minimums, alcohol gel, and temperature verification have combined to decrease cases rather dramatically.
I went to the USA last Thursday and as far as individual measures were concerned, about 40% of people went maskless, stores were packed, and we visitors remained mindful of prevention measures.
Added Personal Note:
The infection rate just across the border in San Diego County is ramping up, while it is slumping south of the border. If your conclusion differs from mine, please don't hesitate to comment.
Late Addition:
Mexico continues to struggle getting enough vaccine. They are down to using Russian Sputnik V, and ineffective Chinese vaccines. The US CONGRESS debates whether to send millions of doses to Bangladesh or Chad. Do your country a big favor and insist surplus doses get sent to Mexico. People are lining up by the thousands only to be turned away when vaccine runs out. And "undocumented" are showing up at the border unvaccinated? This is not good planning, people.

This is where we're at. Tomorrow marks 2 weeks my wife has been on the ventilator while sedated. I got notified yesterday that they're going to start reducing the o2 flow to her and when it is low enuf they're going to remove the tube going into her lungs and put in a trach tube. When that's done they'll start to wake her up. She still has a long road ahead of physical therapy.
This whole mess started with her complaining about the stomach flu, her symptoms were typical of that. So we treated her with liquids and electrolytes. S-I-L is with city fire so he had a paramedic friend come by to give her a bag of juice. That did nothing. Next morning he had another medic team come by and they did a full scan of her and her oxygen level was in toilet at 67%. They want at least 88%. She was immediately hospitalized and put on a ventilator 3 days later. Her respiration was 50 breaths per minute and her oxygen was down to 80. Docs said she would die if left to current treatment. She didn't want to go on the tube but we in the family took a vote and she lost. But by going on the tube she won her life. She was really bad off. None of us thought of Covid with the stomach flu, it's a respiratory virus, after all.

We are very sorry to hear this! For all non-vaccinated people out there; GET VACCINATED and followup with the booster. My family has also had a close, unvaccinated, family member have to go through the ventilator trauma; fortunately he survived after a difficult recovery.

Very sorry to hear this.
Another note on treatment: Rapid diagnosis with a test should trigger immediate inquiry about the advisability of administering a monoclonal antibody (Remdesivir). This early treatment has been shown to have benefits.
Of course vaccination is the most important step in prevention. Over 90% of the hospitalized and serious illnesses are in the un-vaccinated.

Another note on COVID:
While it is primarily a respiratory virus, it affects many organ systems. Symptoms of brain fog and loss of taste and smell indicate neurological involvement, myocarditis - heart involvement, blood clots - hematopoietic system, and GI effects are less common but are reported.
