We are having a 'fresh start' with the topic of personal experiences with Covid and vaccinations. The purpose of this thread to so have discussions regarding vaccinations, their side effects (or lack of), and general comments.
This thread 2019–2022 CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC POSTINGS , on the other hand, will continue to provide as much objective, vetted, information as possible and avoid subjective comments as much as possible. Thank you.

Good thread.
So personal experience so far, Our family of 3 all had Covid in Feb of 2020 before anyone knew what Covid was. Chalked it up as really bad flu. Miserable 2 weeks. Lingering symptoms for months of brain fog etc, but nothing overly dramatic. With the exception of my then 17 year old son who felt crummy for a day and was fine thereafter.
I put off getting vaccinated until I saw how things were going to play out. I eventually did
My Dad - 79 - a picture of health. Went to the Gym daily, ate well, etc. Upon receiving his second Covid shot in January of this year he started developing odd symptoms. Loss of taste, and finally loss of appetite. He also started having a myriad of odd things going on, gal bladder, Liver, Kidneys, his body seemed to attack itself. had doctors scratching their heads and continual prescriptions for antacids and laxatives. Frustrating. But overarching was his total aversion to food. he simply refused to eat, everything made him sick. Almost psychological. Because of spikes in cases we could not get him in a bed in the hospital. In 2 Months he was completely emaciated. Finally got him a bed the beginning of May - too late. He died 4 days later. Cause of death was ruled as Ascites and liver failure.
2 weeks ago - we had dinner with some friends - all of which were vaccinated. One friend got sick and tested positive, my wife got sick and tested positive and now I have it. Can only assume the Delta variant. I should add that while the vaccine is supposed to diminish symptoms, it did not in our friend's case and my wife is also suffering a bout almost as bad as when we had it originally over a year ago. I have mild lingering symptoms.

Hi all,
My first dose I had a mild headache starting 15 minutes after the injection of Phizer which ended in 45 minutes. I did have a sore injection point 30 minutes after injection which disappeared in about 30 minutes.
Second dose, zero symptoms.

I just got my third booster shot on Monday as I am immunocompromised and had no antibodies from the 1st 2 shots. Hoping to see antibodies when tested next week. The injection spot was a bit sore for 1-2 days just like the first 2 shots. I am staying isolated at home or on my fishing boat.

Both wife and I were immunized with first shot in late March, second shot mid April. My wife had some soreness at the shot site after the second one, I had some brain fog for about 12 hours after the second shot but otherwise no reactions.
My wife works from home and so has minimal opportunity for exposure. I am in sales and have been out in public every day. Being in So. GA and FL there are very few here who take precautions, wear masks, etc. but so far neither of us have had any issues. We remain abundantly cautious with where we go and mask up despite being vaccinated. Small price to pay to stay healthy IMHO.

Other halfs son got the delta variant. He is totally vaxed. Thinks he got it while changing power station at work with the outside power company. 5 guys in a bucket truck for about 1/2 hour. Contact tracing was started.
He got a severe headache (he has major migraines often and RA),puking and high fever. Tested positive and doc told him go to hospital. Got an infusion due to having RA,went home. Major sick with fever and no food stayed down. Slightly improved in 3 days,but lost taste and smell. Senses came back on 5th day,now he is just tired. Tested neg.
His wife and 2 kids tested neg day after his 1st test.Kids 9 and 17,not vaxed. 2 days later 9 year old was positive,had low grade fever for a day or so,then felt fine. All retests are neg.

My other half has RA and is on immunosuppressants. She got her 3rd Pfizer vaccination yesterday (as recommended by her rheumatologist) and so far nothing other than a little sore arm.

May I suggest going online and seeking a RECORDING PULSE OXIMETER? These gizmos are invaluable. Goggle has a myriad of professional articles by MDs that discuss the ramifications of O2 deprivation.
And I've noticed some "portable" O2 Concentrators with a claimed 1.5 liter output. I am skeptical at this point because I was Rx'd a plug in concentrator that really sucked the kWh.
A surprising majority of hospitalized COVID cases down here are put on a BiPAP with O2 therapy. Seems like without a machine a concentrator with cannula might be a lot better than nothing.
The new trending virus down here seems to be affecting unvaccinated 30 - 40 year olds. And going after the liver, heart and lungs. There just isn't enough vaccine to jab everyone and the millions of SINOVAC inoculations were an utter waste of time and money. Old people are dying after 2 jabs of Sinovac.
My friend who is in her thirties had her O2 sag to 82 that's Eighty Two, using my hospital verified O2 pulse oximeter. I saw the whatsapp images of the numbers. Test quote unquote "I wanted to die". She recovered having weeks of Jaundice.
I was forced into doing the classic PRIME + BOOST COVID inoculation. PRIME with an initial SINOVAC jab. Wait an endless 16 weeks for a follow up that never came. Get denied an alternative (this is Mexico). Then travel north and get jabbed in the USA with the MODERNA.
The mix of vaccines with a long interval is supposed to yield the king kong of virus protection. Google COVID Prime + Boost then look at NIH articles. I am definitely not recommending this route. Four extra months of vulnerability followed by a week of butt kicking side effects 24 hours after the Moderna jab is not my idea of fun. Essentially I spent a week in bed sleeping 14 hours a day.
This isn't the end of the odyssey either. I may get refused eye and hand surgery without a 2nd Moderna jab which is stoutly discouraged in that NIH report.
Why no 2nd Sinovac jab? I am wheelchair bound and the 2nd jab had a quarter mile waiting lineup and me having no way to transport a wheelchair. The first shot was given while in a auto. It was not repeated.
Do I take my chances with a 3rd jab on the 8th of September?
I'm 75, with more comorbidities than I can shake a stick at. Just for fun I'll share the fact that a Prime + Boost vaccination is listed by the FDA and Nationational Institute of Health to produce SIX TIMES the amount of antibodies as 2 Moderna Shots.
Oh well.

Why oh why do news outlets insist on saying people that are immunized but later test positive are "sick" with COVID19.
Apparently most have no outward signs. Wouldn't "infected" be a better choice of words?
To me, sick means ill. Not feeling well. Is this done to sell newspapers?
Also not living in the USA but I am planning a medical visit in early September. What does it take to get a COVID19 lab test. I have Medicare. And how long are the results good for. I am planning on eye surgery later in the month.

The medical provider for your procedure will have a covid policy with acceptable times between testing and the procedure.
