I had a discussion with a Goodyear Commercial Service representative and he made the following observations.

1.If you have a flat the wheel is normall destroyed also. I agree since I have destroyed two front wheels whe the front tires blew out.

2. The wheels and tires are not widely stocked so you could be down for several days to weeks if you suffer a failure.

3. Most of the fleets he deals with that changed to the super single are going back to dual tires for the reasons above and the "savings" fuel mileage and tire cost did not occur.

4. Reccomended staying with dual tires for motorhome usage.

"Fuel economy was great - loaded up and travelling at about 75mph I was getting right around 8mpg."

I have to ask myself, is someone who would be doing the above with a loaded to the gills, 39' motorhome and a 24' trailer in tow plus additional passengers on board someone I should be taking advice from? [emoticon][emoticon]

How does one drive an RV aggressively?

I bought my rig in November 2008, and it had the original tires - which were 6 years old. I could maybe have gotten another season out of them, but with young kids and my agressive driving style it was not worth the risk.

Driving aggressively-

Keep going uphill with the accelerator on the floor...

I guess I just don't drive like i'm scared, I take on the windy rolling mountians and enjoy it.

What's wrong with going 75?
