RE: Dometic AC freezing up

I agree the control box is malfunctioning if the freeze sensor is buried in ice is interpreted as 74/73F.

RE: How do you decide how much to spend on an RV

Go look. Find the price point you are comfortable with along with the value and conveniences you expect. RV show might be a good start to see many RVs to determine what you are interested in. Never buy on the spot. Look at your finances and see if you are comfortable if 150% of the purchase price disappeared from your bank account.
If 80k seems like a lot.. look at used RVs

RE: Winntec 6020 propane regulator

Is this a recall?

I recommend a Cavagna replacement.

RE: Propane Refills

Yes 80% full is the 100% rated capacity. There is no 80% of 80% then fill to 80% of that.

RE: Wifi booster

as in amplifier to increase a weak signal? So forget about extender, booster just use the phone and hotspot.Yes generally the boosters are still weak and will cut the speed in half. Best to skip it for your own connection.
Usually the camp wifi is overloaded with traffic anyway. Even if you take your laptop over near the antenna the signal will be strong but service still spotty and slow. Some places are better than others. The booster very rarely will actually improve the experience.

RE: Propane Refills

After reading on this site about what a propane tank should weigh when empty/full, I decided I should weigh mine. I had used one tank only with the other one shut off ... The "full" tank weighed in at 44 lbs. the used one at 35.5 lbs. While it makes sense that I used about 8-9 lbs from the tank I was using, it makes no sense that they weighed 44 lbs when full. I was ripped off.
There could be a small difference to the 55 lbs supposed weight when full, but 11 lbs? They advertise as the cheapest propane in town. Not cheap at all! Take a scale with you when refilling! How is the price set?
If 7 gallons goes in and you pay for 7 gallons that seems fair.
Or if you pay for 30 pounds of propane and get 30 # of propane that seems fair also.
If all cylinders are filled for a flat fee.... bring in a 100# rated cylinder for the best value.
So before you decide if you are ripped off how exactly is the price set?

RE: How much anti-freeze?

Assuming the cooling system has been rinsed with plain water (distilled is best), check the owners' manual for the cooling system capacity. Add half the system capacity with coolant and top off with distilled water.
I assume you don't have the manual and are looking for that capacity number. Sorry I don't have it either.

RE: 50 amp to 30 amp dogbone

Just purchased a small 5th wheel with a 50 amp service. I have no need for the 50 power, and would like to just connect to a 30 amp cable. Does anyone make a 50 amp female connector to the trailer with 30 amp male end.Does the trailer have a detachable cord? Can get a 30 amp to replace it like this: https://www.amazon.com/Conntek-14435-Power-30-Amp-Locking/dp/B00269HEKM?th=1
Otherwise Amazon adapter: https://www.amazon.com/Kohree-Adapter-Dogbone-Electrical-Handle/dp/B07G58NSDK

RE: mixing batteriy sizes

No issues as long as they are wired with balanced connections.
The three together will yield more energy due to the Peukert effect.

RE: swapping and charging batteries

When I plugged it in,it was at 12.5V. I have not charged it since sometime last summer, or the fall before. Not bad...If the battery held 12.5v after sitting for a year... that would generally indicate good condition.
Put them all in use together and see what goes.

RE: TT Wear on one tire..only took few short trips

We have a 21 ft TT barely used. We prepared our truck and TT for long awaited trip out west. When we arrived at South Dakota we noticed three tires still looked new but the fourth looks like it has 50K miled on it. It shows a lot of wear. We are very concerned but have no answers as to what it could be. Would appreciate any ideas. Thank you. Larry50,000 miles of wear flat across the tread?
How about post a picture.

RE: Ford files trademark for F200 pickup.

Or compare to a Stanley Steamer....
After going through the 17 steps necessary to start this car and then waiting 30 to 40 minutes for enough steam pressure to build, a driver could expect to travel about 35 to 45 miles before needing to stop and refill the 28-gallon tank with water. The water was heated by vaporized kerosene.
Technology could probably improve this a bit but still careful what you wish for.

RE: Ford files trademark for F200 pickup.

I think we should try steam again as well.Yes and fired with coal or heavy sulfur crude ;)
Anyone know the range of a steam train engine before needing water?
Farther than an EV. :-)Are you sure?
Google:
During the very early days of steam locomotives, water stops were necessary every 7–10 miles (11–16 km) and consumed much travel time. With the introduction of tenders (a special car containing water and fuel), trains could run 100–150 miles (160–240 km) without a refill.

RE: Proper Power Receptacle For Home?

Wire and install a 50 amp. Use a 50 to 30 dog bone.+1
Very few errors with a NEMA 14-50. The errors happen with the NEMA TT-30.

RE: Xantrex AC to DC #XADC-60 Converter Issue!

12.8 to 10.6 in 5 minutes is close to 50+ amp load. This not a small load if the batteries are actually in good shape.
A DC clamp-on ammeter would tell the story immediately.

RE: In case you wonder

Yes so the real landfill culprit is the end user, not the EV/Phone/Tool manufacturer where the blame is placed.
Eventually may need a CRV deposit like on an aluminum beer can.

RE: shifting on downhills

I don't know about the newer models but in previous versions that's what the tow/haul mode was for. When descending if you tapped the brakes it would downshift.Does tapping the brake cancel the cruise control?
Or would the activated cruise control initiate a downshift on its own to limit speed?

RE: how to replace the charger inverter in a four winds

OK I have had the original charger inverter power supply working and the AGM battery is charging just fine. The problem I am having now is that the if I am running my A/C and my Microwave on shore power sometimes either or will trip the breaker. I just think the whole power supply unit is old and needs replacing. It is a Parallx 7300 Series power supply. I am thinking is it possible to change to a 50 amp supply instead of the 30?
One other question. Do these new supplies come with a fan for cooling the unit? The current one to my knowledge does not.The 7300 will chronically undercharge the AGM batteries.
Get a Progressive Dynamics replacement converter. If going 50 amp... may as well get the full 50 amp Progressive Dynamics load center. Only hard part might be pulling new 50a NMB cable from the entrance to the new panel. If access is easy it will be a slam dunk.
