I’m looking at a 2016 Newmar mountain aire. It’s a 4553 model, and the selling dealer say it’s a 500hp. All the brochures and information I can find says it’s 600hp. Anyone know for sure? I have the vin if that helps. Thanks all

It depends on the engine, not sure what was offered at that time. As mentioned above, the X12 will be around 450 - 500 hp, and the X15 will be in the 600-605 hp range. As far as I recall, the X15 may not have been available in the MADPs, so it may be an X12. Either one of those engines are fantastic, but the X15 is in a class of its own IMHO.

Take it out for a drive and see if the performance is adequate for your needs. We aren't in a race anyway, so if you are comfortable with it while cruising and hitting some reasonable hills, it should work.

Call Newmar with the VIN, they can answer your question. It doesn't really matter, both will work fine.

Just look at the engine. It will be marked probably on the timing cover, ISM or ISX. Problem solved.
