If all you want to do is post your great opinions, go get a blog.
After reading some of his past posts a blog would be a good idea. ![wink [emoticon]](http://www.coastresorts.com/sharedcontent/cfb/images/wink.gif)
The OP seems to be a knowledgeable member, and has some good info to offer, most times. He just seems to have interaction issues, especially if criticism is involved.
There is help available for this, if he wants it.
It is nice he is very happy with his gen, and that he did not have to spend a lot for it.
I have a 2K Champ that works great for me!

On edit: to add a few little perks.
The unit is water resistant, with many coverings, mine also has clear plastic covers over the resets, that aren't visible in this pic.
Looking at selector handle, it is in off (fuel and engine stop). The next select up, is fuel off, engine runs till carb empty. On other side, easy remove cover, exposing carb, with handy drain, including attached hose to exit under the gen.
Looking closely at the handle, near gas cap, an LED light, that pops out, to shine in the gas tank at night.
While I could have purchased any gen I wanted, this was my choice, due to great features, plus quiet, and easy starting! Champion has great customer service, even sent a free Champion T-shirt to me!

Don't forget that back in the day there were really 2 choices for a quality generator, Honda or Yamaha. Those times have changed and there are many nice ones out that folks have had great luck with and are not as expensive.
What I never will understand is why someone will buy something and then not take care of it. I am sure your owners manual would not say to store it for a year with old gas in it. But then again its yours so do with it what you will.

Almost all devices that run on a carburetor(gasoline)engine should have a shut-off valve near the carburetor. ALL the outboard boat engines which I've owned (including the 6 cylinder Merc) I always let run until the carburetors runs out of gasoline, before I take them out of the water. NEVER had any problem starting them up. Right now, I have a tiller, and a small air compressor, that need a replacement carburetor. Guess why....???

Looks familiar. Our trusty little champion comes in handy after being in the shade for a few days. We typically run it for about 45 minutes to an hour. Brings the 2 AGM 6 volts up to a reasonable level for the night.

The carbs do not need replaced, they need the jet and emulsion tube cleaned.
Small engine carbs are very simple with in almost every case no small passages to clog so no need to dunk, soak or use exotic cleaners.
The heart of small engine carb is the center tube where the fuel bowl is screwed on to at the bottom.
Remove the fuel bowl, inside the tube is a jet, most are removable. If removable, remove with flat blade screw driver. Be careful that the little tube the the jet was holding doesn't fall out and disappear from your sight. Extract the tube if it didn't fall out.
That tube is the emmulsion tube, it mixes air with the liquid fuel from the jet. It has four rows of small holes, those holes over time clog shut. Carefully with a small needle open each hole. Give a once over with some spray carb cleaner and reassemble.
Some carbs on pushmowers will have a bit different setup since the carb sits above the fuel tank that involves a vacuum fuel pump.. The fuel pump diaphragm tends to fail. With that one it is best to buy new gasket which includes the fuel pump diaphragm.
In most cases a good cleaning will fix it, other wise you can buy after market replacement carbs for most small engines for $10-$30..
And yes, I have cleaned carbs over the yrs and not replaced any.
Latest project was a 30yr old Chinese clone gen that came along with a bunch of scrap.. Tank was full to the top with rusty water, carb was full of rusty water.. Cleaned the tank, removed the carb and simply cleaned the carb.. Engine started on the second pull after reassembling..

I fully agree.
Stating "I will not be viewing any further comments so save your gas" is nothing short of disrespectful.
It's literally the same as saying "what I have to say is important, but I don't give a rat's rear end about your responses or opinions"

Actually getting a life would be an even better idea for the OP.
But nothing like bragging about how old gas didn’t plug up your carb and trying to discredit those who have more money than you even though the old gasoline doesn’t care which brand of carburetor it turns to varnish in!
But OPs sincere lack of knowledge is even more evident by the statement of mixing stabil with the new gas for some unknown reason (hopefully not because he felt he beat the odds with the carb plugging up and was taking precautions for the next storage spell…because that would be extra contradictory to his contradictory story).
Not being smart enough to even realize what your saying is a sign of something not good, mentally.

Exactly. Especially when his posts tend to be of the argumentative style. "Here's my opinion on {insert ahighly contested subject}. I don't care what you have to say about it."
