fulltimin, in seriousness, and as someone who has followed this almost from the beginning I can say that I thought it would be done by now as I imagine, you hoped as well. It is, as has been noted, your project, your life.
Some of it interests me, some of it doesn’t. But it certainly doesn’t hurt me to check in once or twice a week. I’ll give you props for your tenacity, and I hope you can get to where you can take it out and enjoy it. It will certainly be unique, and I am anticipating how it will end up.
Godspeed in finishing it. As I type this I’m sitting in the sun outside our motor home enjoying retirement. I hope you can do the same soon. I know you have other things in life to attend to, but slow, and steady seems to be working for you.
Now get to work!!

Considering that he just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary, retirement should be being enjoyed. Instead he's working hard on this project and his computer repair business. Maybe that's what keeps him young!

A couple of things .....
First, thanks to everyone who posted, and yes I sincerely mean that!
No, there was no can of worms opened. These are called "discussion forums" for a reason. People discuss things, it's what we do.
Not everyone will agree on everything. It's why we drive different rigs, have different floor plans, puchase different appliances, etc. It's a personal thing, and what makes us ... well ... us.
Even though it may look like it at times, I am not completely stupid, (debatable at times).
I am aware this has been slow,(dull, dry), for a while. Am I happy with that ... no.
Am I happy with the rate of progress for a while.... no.
Am I quitting? No. As I've said before, I am not smart enough to know when to quit.
Do I, or have I wanted to quit? No.
Remember, this is to be a fulltiming rig, not a weekending or part time vacation rig. That means, things that I would normally overlook in the design and flow for a couple of weeks use, would really annoy both of us, when "living" in it rather than "vacationing" in it.
As such, I would rather have it the way I want it, rather than just settle for being able to get in it sooner.
At times, it may appear that I just wander around in circles during the construction. What is actually going on is, I'll hit a point where I am not sure exactly how I want to proceed with a certain section, so rather than just continue, I'll just stop for a little while and then go back to it later.
Frequently, I come up with an idea that suits me better, and the end results are what I wanted before finishing up that project.
Case in point is the shower pan and shower walls. I suppose I could fiberglass all of it into one piece. Then again, it might be nice to be able to remove the shower pan, which then presents a different scenario.
How to I seal the walls to the shower pan, so no water leakage can occur, but still be removable?
It's a "decision dilemma", not a "I don't feel like working on it now" situation.
That's kind of the long and short of it. The closer I get to being finished, the worse that scenario is, because these are decisions that matter a lot to us.
Maybe I should just lock myself in the moho, and leave the phone in the house.
Again, thanks for all the posts and view points. If you have any ideas on the shower pan, feel fee to post.
Then again, I may be approaching the "that's close enough" stage! Lol.

So you can stress through a bunch of "decision dilemmas" trying to accomplish 100% perfection and never enjoy a minute of it, or you can make a decision, right or wrong, and get 99.5% enjoyment for the rest of your years.
Seems like an easy decision to me.
Life is short, enjoy the ride. Accept 99% perfection, finish it up and enjoy it!

I think you are overthinking the shower pan. What you want is access under the shower pan. As long as you have that you can secure the pan and put the walls in place permanently (leave wall access as well to that plumbing) and leak free.

Place the pan in place, place 4" wide strip of FRP over lip of pan and up wall 3" mounted so that it is removable then permanent install FRP over rest of wall overlapping the 4" strip below. That will shed any water. If there is a concern about water possible getting behind the FRP waterproof the wall first, then install the pan and FRP over the waterproofed wall.
To remove the pan first remove the 4" wide strip of FRP and that will free the pan for removal.

That sort of sums it up. My design frustrations are more from a "how will this function" state of mind, I guess.
It will never be perfect, stressed or not.
