RE: shifting on downhills

IMHO you should be in the gear going down hill that you would be in going up the same hill! We have a 2021 7.3 v8 fleetwood bounder 33c. Does anyone have info on shifting when going down hill and up hill. Other than the Ford manual?

RE: Issues with Premier Freightliner

Post your experience here and check for service location reviews Service reviewHi all, I briefly tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything about this, but have others been turned away for having a coach 10+ years old at Premier Freightliner? I called Portland OR Premier Freightliner earlier in the week for an intermittent bucking issue under load. They told me first come first serve and to bring it in. No asking me how old it was and I didn't think to ask as I never heard of a dealership turning away their own brand for being too old. So, I make the drive down and am told "nope if it's over 10 years old we won't work on it." The next nearest freightliner is a Premier too in Salem, about 45 miles away. So if I want an authorized dealership to touch it I need to take it to Albany Oregon ~75 miles away! It is insane to me that a dealership will not service their own brand. I messaged Freightliner corporate and Premier's Service Manager. Freightliner corporate should update their website so it lists all Premier dealerships as not touching anything older than 10 years. IMO Freightliner should not allow them to sell or service rigs if they are going to restrict the age that they work on. That's a huge demographic of customer in a major metropolitan area they are turning away if they won't touch anything older than 2013. Anyway have others had this issue? Any recommendations for good Diesel RV mechanic in the Portland Oregon area? Thanks for letting me vent...

RE: Inverter Upgrade

Consider a 2000 watt full sine wave inverter 2007 Winnebago Voyage 35L just upgraded to lithium, new converter etc. Now I would like to upgrade the inverter from the 600 watt to about 2000. The 600 watt powers the front TV, two front outlets, and the rear TV. How hard would it be to power all the 15 and 20 amp breakers on the load center? Just want to power the outlets, possibly the microwave. I know a little about electrical stuff, but far from an expert. Is this something I could do myself? All Ideas and input appreciated!

RE: 83 and have hung up the keys

Just read my signature! Over the years I have seen posts asking, when is it time to hang up the keys, well for this guy it is 82 years and 9 months. I suppose I could buy a "B" or "B +" and we could still do some traveling but it would only work for a year or two. Seven months ago I realized that after driving the towed to the storage yard, moving clothes and supplies into the RV and hooking up the towed was taking two to four hours and then after three or four hours on the road I needed a nap. Degenerative spinal discs and inflammatory Poly Arthritis was slowing me down and causing a lot of pain, it even sent me to the ER a few months ago. So we sat down and talked about travel and decided that driving a four wheeler or flying and driving was the best we could do with our health issues. Five days ago it was clear and warn so we went to the RV to get some of our kitchen supplies to take to our OR home. A guy stopped at the RV and asked if we were interested in selling, I said sure and we got our price less cost of 6 new tires and new front brakes. No need to place a for sale ad or dicker. He and his son met us at the RV, we filled out papers, visited the bank to deposit the cash and in three hours it was gone, we took our eldest out to lunch for helping fill out the papers and counting the cash, told the storage yard we wouldn't be a tenant any longer, cancelled the insurance, transferred the title with DMV and we were having a cold drink in the living room back at home. I think the old saying about a boat owners two happiest days are buying and selling but in this case, about 02:00 am, I woke and almost cried, the memories came flooding back from our first camping trip with a borrowed tent and Coleman stove with a 4yo and a 5yo, to our last trip up to OR in Sept. in the Winnie. I'll miss it and miss all of you, at least we did it till we just couldn't do it anymore. No more Pendleton Shirts smelling like a campfire, no more kids and grandkids giving gooey S'more kisses, no more sunrises at "Q" To quote Bob Hope, "Thanks for the Memories". David

RE: Slides out or autolevelers down first?

RTFM as in read the factory manual.I have seen slide and then level and level and then slide. We’re now on our third Class A MH and the dealer insisted slides go out first . We have always leveled first. Any thoughts?

RE: generator fuel line

Yes and it took me a year to find it. I extended the generator slide all the way out and traced the like to the MH fuel tank. I have a 2003 Duch star on a spartan chassis. I figured out the fuel line to the gen set must have a air leak. Or something I have to keep bleeding the gen set. Has anyone ever had with problems and got it fixed? It runs great from a 5 gallon can.

RE: Starter Batteries

IMHO they have not changes over the years so I would go find another unit and see how it is wired. Does anyone have any kind of schematic showing where the cables(wires) go in hooking up the starter batteries on a 1999 National Tradewinds. Had batteries replaced and now he isn't quite sure where all the wires go properly. I know they should have been tagged as they were removed but that didn't happen so now need help. Thanks
