RE: Transfer switch

Otherwise yes if you need a full 30 amp relay in standard RV format the box is a bit bulky.

RE: Ok to run shore power without battery?

WFCO does not require a battery.

RE: Inverter Output Power Question

2/0 minimum. 4/0 and 400 amp/hr minimum for lead-acid batteries.
Otherwise what does the manual say? 6-10 feet is getting a bit long.
900 watt is probably cooking power. Input power is closer to 1300 to 1500 watts.

RE: how delicate and fussy are LFP batteries

My set of GC2 were far more maintenance and care than the current LFP.

RE: Inverter Output Power Question

There are a few that will split the power where there is 50% available at each of two outlets.
Best to post the make and model number before you click and buy.
A top brand will supply full power from a single outlet.

RE: Solar inverter -- shore power question

I assume that when connected to shore power, (or a portable generator) the shore power not the solar panels is the primary method charging the battery bank. I also assume that when towing down the road the tow truck alternator and the solar panels are each charging the battery back.Generally this is correct depending on equipment. Having multiple charging sources is not an issue.

RE: Pex to pipe thread transition

Tape or dope goes on tapered pipe threads only. If there is a gasket or flare, no tape or dope.

RE: LiFePO4 battery build

Cells look fine. JBD is great. Enjoy the new found freedom with lithium.
I recommend an active balancer over doing an initial parallel top balance.
I have 16 similar grade B cells and they work perfectly. Although I would have preferred your terminals if they were available at the time.

RE: How much capacity is lost if converter isn't Li-friendly?

Generally LFP will rest fully charged at 13.4 volts. Need a bit more to actually charge so 13.6 is fine but will take an extended period. 14.2 to 14.4 is certainly faster.
The good thing is charging to 90%-95% will not cause a loss of capacity like lead-acid over time. And the LFP will definitely charge faster than lead-acid at similar voltage.
Solar panel may eventually cause LFP to go to over volt protection if used during storage.

RE: Wow

How do we know the guy's trailer did not start the fire and burned down the entire CW building? Would he offer to pay?
Otherwise yes everybody's own insurance pays for what you own. The insurance companies can work out the details of who is ultimately liable.

RE: Inverter on Generator wiring?

A transfer switch to isolate the power sources is required.
What inverter are you installing? Some do not like to be wired in to an electrical system.

RE: Wfco8930/50

If the LA charger goes 14.2 to 14.6 volts the lithium will be at 100%.
Most do charge at this level.

RE: I have a disgusting problem… HELP!!!

How about fill the septic in the morning where you have the pumper scheduled to pump the main septic tank in the early afternoon.
I doubt any price would be high enough to take eight drums from a neighbor and bury them in your property.
Yet so many think it is OK because the drums are yours...

RE: I have a disgusting problem… HELP!!!

I really don't want to open my septic tank lid and dump it in there as 400 odd gallons would over tax our 1000 gallon tank.....I would dump one barrel per week until it is gone

RE: Wfco8930/50

Wow thanks for the info I am struggling with the 84 Amp hr.lead acid battery and I plan to upgrade to a lithium in the spring, my travel trailer came with the 12v only fridge that drained the battery in about 4 hrs. We have a huge state park with no hookups here and w/o good battery life it is rough. I don't like having to run a generator for hours.Need a propane fridge or 600+ watts solar on the roof and park in good sun.
Probably help to know the fridge make and model# to explore operations or upgrades.

RE: Dometic AC freezing up

My problem is in the living room. The one in the bedroom works fine. I swapped the two stat and the problem is still in the living room. Therefore I'm certain the thermostat is not the problem.I assume it is the control box. Have the control boxes been switched?

RE: Wfco8930/50

Lithium is not that different. Most "lithium" converters are actually not the best for lithium batteries.
The existing WFCO might work fine even if not perfect. Will not harm the lithium. Charging might be a little slower but will still far exceed lead-acid. Might short charge the lithium to maybe 90% - 95% which will not harm the lithium one bit. Might even last longer.

RE: Radiator style radiant heaters

I have a 1200 watt DeLonghi I got at Costco many years ago. I only bring it if temps are going to be lower than 40F and we will have hookups. I mostly run it full time to supplement the furnace to reduce propane run time. Has a thermostat to cycle the heat so it runs intermittent in the day and flat out below freezing overnight.
Actually have not done much cold weather camping lately. Does supplement heat nicely when used. Adjust as needed.

RE: Dometic AC freezing up

Doug
I have seen the coils ice over.
I swapped the stats and the problem did not follow.
I only have the problem on 1 unit the other 1 is working fine.
KennyDo both read the same temperature in each position when swapped?
One was working, right?
