RE: Park pet peeves, Park owner’s turn

LOL! I wish it was some speshul privilege, but I'm pretty sure I'm on the rv.net Most Wanted Poster List and all my posts are on probation until they clear customs!OK;) A lot of work for the mods though. You must be speshul enough to at least one of them to keep you around.:B

shelby said: " I've noticed your posts often pop up in the middle of threads, as if you've "reserved" a place but your post shows up hours later. How do you do that?" There is an obvious explanation for this! Many members falling between 85-115 are unaware of what is going on when this happens. Grit is not the only one utilizing this secret way of reserving his post spot. JerryWell heck, maybe I should read the manual.:B

RE: Park pet peeves, Park owner’s turn

There are 92 posts why RVers don’t like RV parks....Fun to read your response! Dealing with the public in any fashion is a challenge. FWIW, the recent "Peeves" thread seemed to mostly call out bad behavior by fellow campers, not so much complaints about the campgrounds.

RE: Park pet peeves, Park owner’s turn

I can only imagine the number of Karens and idiots you deal with. The older I get, the more I realize it seems the avg IQ is somewhere around a cool room temperature! I've noticed you post quite a bit about how stupid folks are, low IQ, etc . Every one of us who has been to school in the US in the past 50 or 60 years is aware of their IQ or at least a percentile. To me it sounds as you are for some reason defensive about intelligence. There is no reason to be, it's how we are born and we can't take credit or blame. FWIW, avg is still 100, with 68% of us falling between 85 and 115. Now knowledge and education are things we can control. Obviously some fields such as math and physics are beyond what many of us can absorb. This isn't a big deal in everyday life, so long as we recognize our limitations. Lecture done.;) Also. I've noticed your posts often pop up in the middle of threads, as if you've "reserved" a place but your post shows up hours later. How do you do that?:h

.... Bottom line we need to get off fossil fuels as fast as we can. Why?:W I know it's a joke but apparently somewhere between 7% and 14% of US adults are still climate change deniers. Scary isn't it? The Sahara desert used to be covered in grass, trees and lakes. What happened? The earth is flat, I done seen it with my own two eyes....

RE: Flying J / Pilot to install megachargers for med/heavy trks

Maybe this thread should be closed or better yet deleted. Reisender should know better than to start an EV thread here. Responding to EV bashing is one thing but deliberately baiting these guys is another. dedmiston as an Admin should know better than to post this kind of unhinged rant, regardless of how outraged he is about children in the Congo or whatever. JMO....

Scary isn't it? Weather forcasts are not accurate more than about a week out....Yet we are supposed to believe forcasts decades out? "Weather" and "climate" are not the same. It's a false comparison. So are you sayingthat they have nothing to do with one another? Here is your explanation, just in case you aren't trolling.Weather vs Climate

RE: Pet Peeves in RV Parks

Be nice if some folks who need a dog with them all the time could be encouraged to switch to a teddy bear, weighted blanket or Xanax. Would be cheaper as well.

You are lucky it's just a slab. One corner of my home foundation has sunk, as much as 1/2" depending on the season. From what I read it's going to cost $thousands to have it jacked up and stabilized. Contractors....

RE: Pet Peeves in RV Parks

Ron, it's peeve, not a major issue. I've been lucky and have rarely had "bad" neighbors. When one does show up, they seem to exhibit more than one of these unfortunate behaviors. The same guy that runs a leaf blower might also have landing strip lights and a barking dog. Not really surprising as all this is related to the need for attention and an entitled mentality. They are the center of the universe and we all need to see them as such, right? Fortunately, in my experience most folks would rather be courteous than offensive.

RE: Pet Peeves in RV Parks

I'll cut to the chase. The only way to avoid the issues mentioned is to camp alone. If you are camping around others you will have to tolerate some behavior you don't like. Such as opening or closing the RV door or using the factory installed lights. If you let these minor annoyances ruin your camping experience shame on you.....and yes as already mentioned in the opening post, the OP sounds like an old grouch,Just because the factory installs cheesy LEDs all over the RV doesn't mean folks have to use them.:R

RE: Pet Peeves in RV Parks

I think a couple of you may have been camping at Bull River on Cabinet Gorge Res a couple summers ago. There was a guy and his grandson who’d fire up the campfire songs each night. You know, really offensive stuff like old country and western songs….in rural Montana. Guy was loud and but he could sing. Ida swore he had a mic and a PA. (He didn’t. Guy was just an awesome singer and guitarist) Well the second day a couple Karen’s and Kevin’s complained to the camp host about the noise after quiet hours. (We’re talking like 10-11pm mid summer not 2 am) Camp host and wife were cool folks. He stopped by in the afternoon and asked me to help him get the word out about the concert tonight. So invited the whole campground to the guys campsite that night…except the Karens. Got pretty drunk w the camp host too…good times! This story comes as no surprise.:B
