RE: I'm curious to know what you would do?

Is your price on the 2023 more now than when you ordered it? If not, what is causing you to reconsider?

Agree. Check the new one carefully and move forward with what you really want. It's only $10K US.

RE: How many EVs is GM actually selling?

Yep, having choices is usually a good thing. I wouldn't choose an EV right now to pull a 40' mobile home but one would work fine for my wife's commute to the gym. I'm happy to see infrastructure expanding and technology improving!
For sure. And we each in our own way spend unnecessary money on things or luxuries that “we” want. Myself included.
But the flip side to what you said, is that $5000 fuel sipping old commuter would get her to the gym just the same, but cheaper, albeit without the fanfare and image you/she is trying to put forth.
I feel the point that is lost here is that generally those who are advocates are either above the median income/wealth range and it’s a combination status symbol and an adjectival representation of what they want people to think about them or literally going for the most basic compact commuter car.
Not bagging on your choice. I could say the same for myself with a stable full of fuel guzzlers. They’re what I prefer.
The difference is, unlike many EV owners, I don’t try to justify my actions by selectively promoting them while looking down my nose at those that don’t think the same.
Again not saying that’s you in particular, but that is the general theme amongst most of the staunch EV proponents here. Even the ones who don’t have the coin to buy one. That's just not been my experience. I know a half dozen EV owners and other than being affluent (same as most buyers of new HD trucks) none of that describes them. I don't think any of them care what other folks drive. Not saying your experience hasn't been different. :)

RE: A.R.E. Camper Shells

Another question; why is there no way to lock the back flap from the inside? Has not occurred to A.R.E. that some of their customers would be using their camper shell to camp in (who could have guessed?)and perhaps would like to lock the rear flap so that any unsavory character who happens by during the wee hours cannot stroll over and open the shell to find you sleeping in there? Actually, these are marketed as "bed caps" and most buyers are unlikely to be trying to "camp" in them. Nevertheless, you should be able to figure a way to block the mechanism from inside. Also, silicone spray might be a better choice than WD40 for the sliding parts.

RE: Hard sided campers under 1500lbs with 6' int ht spreadsheet.

Only issue that worries me is these Ford PTO'sfail around 70K if not fluid not maintained. If maintained, they last on average 250K. Ford says to change PTO fluid every 100K in owners manual but many have proven fluid starts looking like mud by 40K, (probably 10K if towing). What's a PTO?

RE: How bad is it really? TC on a Ram 2500 w/coils.

Not spam. :h Lots of build threads and discussion about campers on all sorts of trucks. Pretty sure the Ram coils have been mentioned a time or two. It's more of a hands on forum and you won't see 5th wheels or 30' trailers.

RE: Tires- LT or ST

Thanks. I have been using the Carlisle Radial Trail HD which is an E rated ST. No problems but they are getting some age. I'll probably replace with the same or the Endurance. I don't think I have room for 16s.

RE: How to search for tires?

You are really stupid with poor reading comprehension. The tire shops always recommended truck tire balancing and same shops said no need for TT tire balancing. You are anal about this like the loser troll Dirtdog. I feel sorry for both of you trolls and your low IQs.
Maybe you just don't understand plain English. Maybe a slow learner in school and always. No more replies to you loser trolls.
Cheers from the hot spot.Prunes and/or metamucil, fix you right up.:W

My tires are also 225/75R15. A scan of Discount Tire site doesn't give me any LT options. Guess that saves me from having to decide....

RE: Financing Rates These Days

Yeah shouldn’t have gotten political. +1 That's all I ask. We aren't going to change any minds about this stuff on an RV forum. Though I do get the fun of throwing out the random snipe! I think we can agree that politically we'd like different options and less drama.:)

RE: Financing Rates These Days

Shelby, maybe look up the definition of racist or racism and then reconsider your comment. Look less silly that way.
Regarding the rest of that post you referenced, idk what to say. Other than maybe I should have said “some powerful people in our country” did their level best to try to tank the economy and the citizens of the US of A. Under false pretenses of “saving” people’s lives.
Apologies. I guess you can provide some evidence that the VP is a "hoe" other than she's a Black woman. More accomplished than either of us, BTW. Or maybe specific policies promoted by Joe that have "tanked" the economy. Dow is high, recession fears are easing as is inflation. Folks are getting a decent return on their savings. Seems to me we have weathered a global pandemic pretty well. Naturally, the 15 million dead and their families may feel more could have been done. I'm really not surprised by your point of view but I'm disappointed the mods have given you a platform to rant. Back on topic, if people are concerned about a couple of interest points, maybe they should rethink financing a toy. Living within our means is a good thing, regardless of our politics.

RE: Rank your RV issues

With my first trailer it was water leaks. I resolved that by going to a molded fiberglass trailer. The continuing annoyance is hub maintenance. I learned to do it but I resent having to. Hubs on autos seem to go forever these days yet you still have to mess with trailers every 10k miles.

RE: Selling an RV/payment

I've found the thread interesting and timely as I'm thinking of selling my travel trailer and I'm no financial wizard. I was pretty sure I didn't want to deal with $20K in cash but wasn't up to date on the alternatives. I've done some Googling as well. I need to check the specifics with my bank but it seems as if meeting with the buyer at my bank and doing an electronic transfer would be best. Fun to speculate as to why OP is trying to avoid banks. IRS? Ex? Debt collectors?

RE: Alarming spalling failures on 7.3 Godzilla

I'm assuming you use that service and can attest to it's reliability?
Just from previous posts, I'm thinking if he does use those services, it is not working for him. In all fairness, he's not been here that long, so a big improvement may be noticed as his post count increases.
Jerry I'm guessing a disposable "sock" of an existing member who feels compelled to post stupid/offensive stuff but hopes to dodge the consequences. Wonder who...?
Lol. Your interest for the well being of rv.net is noticed and appreciated. But I’m sure there’s an EV issue that you could better spend your time spinning yarns aboot…LOL, interesting that you would be the guy who responded.... FWIW, you won't see me in EV threads anymore. I figured I wouldn't discuss that with folks like you in real life so why bother on the internet? :R
