RE: Generac shutdown issues, help!

Yes tow vehicle information is also needed. Weight can be a very significant factor for liability, severe accidents do happen. I wouldn't ignore it but to each his own...I don't know how you can talk about that without knowing what kind of tires he has on his trailer. Incidentally, I left my RV in Florida (we shall see if that's a mistake next November) and brought my "stuff" (two motorcycles, etc) home in a 16' cargo trailer. About 30km from home I noticed that the tread on one tire is "wowing" about an inch in one section of the circumference. I changed it on the spot (Walmart) but I left the other tire with wires sticking out of the tread/sidewall until I got home. I guess I'll take the opportunity to upgrade from "C" rating to "D" rating. Oh yes, the built in Onan in my RV quits after about 20 minutes. Heat?

RE: Should be simple WiFi question, but???

I just a retired carpenter but what I understand if your tablet does have 5G your not going to get it.Not 5G - 5 gHz. Not the same thing.

RE: Do golf cart chargers always charge to equalize voltage?

I don't stabilize my GC batteries ever (unless the charger does it without me knowing but I doubt it)

RE: Fresh water tank taking too long to fill...any suggestions?

Screw in connection is usually the black tank rinse.

RE: 2022 Salem destination rv has no 12v batteries

My RVs batteries are in parallel with the 12V converter.

RE: Flying J/Pilot oil

I've noticed that Flying J diesel prices have crept above other places over the last few years (after the Pilot takeover?). But now that I'm hauling a cargo trailer instead of my big RV I can stop pretty much anywhere. My RV will get hauled north only once more when I'm ready to sell it.

AND... it was not just the stupid Canadian gov't keeping us safe: even if Canada had had NO restrictions, you still couldn't drive over the border anyway. Well, you probably could drive over the border but you'd get turned back at customs.

RE: Flying J/Pilot oil

I understand they are charging the truckers to reserve spots in the lot. That's probably why the truckers are parking in the RV spots - no charge. We've stayed at the Savannah Walmart many times - this year we were told no parking / get out.

RE: Domestic thermostat ccc2

Can you borrow another unit and try it? Easiest way to determine if your unit is (partially) fried.

RE: free streaming video

pianotuna: since you're from Canada, this seems relevant: do any of these streaming services offer Canadian content? We probably won't have Shaw Direct next winter because of an aged-out sat. I'm not sure I'll be able to survive the whole winter without TV.

RE: Windows 11 Experts?

Just curious, do you really need an H partition. I have been heavy computing for 30 years and never needed different partitions on my internal or external drives. Thanks.I put LINUX on a separate partition. I've installed various VMs in separate partitions. My F: drive used to be my C: drive until I replaced C: with an SSD. Oh yes, I've been computing for 55 years noob :)

RE: Windows 11 Experts?

We're getting a new Dell laptop as soon as we get home in 3 weeks. W11, 500GB SSD. Is "send to" a new feature of W11? I've always used copy / paste for other W dot X OS'es.

What glue to reattach pleated blinds to frame??

I recently restrung a pleated blind and maybe the strings are a little bit too tight because the bottom pleat is coming detached from the bottom frame. I'm wondering what glue to use to reattach the fabric to the metal frame??

RE: Season soon to end - putting RV into storage

Summers down south are battery killers. So you’re leaving the Rv batts in though?I have 2 12V deep cycle batteries in the RV. One is 10 years old and the other is 5 years old. I'm thinking of disposing of the 10 y.o. one and going with only 1 12V. If the summer kills one or both the batteries, it'll motivate me to change them / it. It's my plan to leave the RV here until we're done RVing (a small number of years) then haul it north to sell it. I don't see much dry camping in our future.
