AA and AAA Rechargeable Batteries

Where do you buy AA and AAA Rechargeable Batteries? I looked on Amazon and found a bunch of poorly rated batteries, some of which were expensive. I didn't see any that I wanted to buy. There was talk about counterfeits from China. Where do you buy good quality AA and AAA rechargeable batteries for a reasonable price? Note added 8-22: What is a fair price for quality AA and AAA rechargeables?

RE: Remote measurement of fridge and freezer temperatures

How remote are talking about? Just with the doors closed in the trailer? Or if you gone from the trailer and want to check it? I want to read the fridge and freezer temperatures without opening the fridge and freezer doors.

RE: Remote measurement of fridge and freezer temperatures

This one from Acurite has worked well for us since 2016: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QJVU78/ That's the same one we have been using. How do you tell when the batteries in the sensor go dead?

Remote measurement of fridge and freezer temperatures

Have you found a good instrument for remotely measuring the temperatures of fridge and freezer? I have been using an Acurite. It has been satisfactory except that when the batteries in the remote go dead the base station continues to give the previous reading and you don't know the batteries are dead. Also the magnets that secure the base station to a metal surface came loose from the base station and when re-attached seem to have lost their magnetic properties. So I am looking for something better. What has worked well for you?

RE: How do you measure the ambient temperature?

Message from the OP: Thanks for all your inputs. I ordered an Unni Wireless Outdoor-Indoor Thermometer with 3 outdoor sensors that I plan to place one on each side and one at the back of our Class A. The base station shows all three sensor readings at once. Presumably the lowest is in the shade and is the most nearly correct reading.

How do you measure the ambient temperature?

How do you measure the ambient temperature? Revised to read: How do you measure the temperature of the air around your rig?

Norcold Refrigerator will not run on 120-volt power.

We recently bought a Thor Axis 24.1 with a Norcold 2-way refrigerator. The switch on the fridge control panel can be set so that the fridge runs on 120-volt power when available. Otherwise it runs on propane. We discovered that the fridge always runs on propane, even when 120-volt power is available and we don’t know how to correct that. Any suggestions?

RE: Posting New Rig Photo

Are you using this photo uploading site? http://photoposting.is-great.net/?i=1 No. I have no idea how to do that.

How do I change my listing from Truck Campers to Class A's?

How do you sanitize your fresh-water tank and lines?

The instructions that came with our rig use a lot of water. In scarce-water Colorado we do not want to use more than necessary. How do you do yours?

RE: Fleetwood 26Y with twin beds

My wife learned about small Thor Class A’s on Drivin’ & Vibin’. The Thor 24.1 has the twin beds we want and will fit in our parking space. So we gave up on finding a Fleetwood 26Y with twin beds and bought a 2016 Thor Axis 24.1. Unfortunately, the Thor 24.1 is not available with a dinette, another of our requirements. So we plan to have a dinette installed.

Guanella Pass from Georgetown CO

What is the maximum length permitted on Guanella Pass? We have a 25.5 foot long Thor Axis 24.1 Class A and wonder if it can handle the curves on the pass starting from Georgetown.

Fridge in freezing weather

If I turn the refrigerator on when the temperature in the camper is 30F and I want the freezer colder and the refrigerator warmer, how's that going to happen?

RE: Denver to Grand Rapids in February

I didn't know I-70 went through Nebraska. You know: Nebraska spelled K-a-n-s-a-s.

Denver to Grand Rapids in February

Leaving Denver CO on I-70 east, with a destination of southern Grand Rapids MI, where would be the best place to leave I-70 and what would be the best northbound four-line highways that avoid traffic around Chicago and/or other heavy traffic areas. What about available RV parks this time of year?

GMC Class A

Have you recently owned a GMC Class A manufactured in the 1970s? Can it be reliable transportation? Or is it strictly a collector-hobbyist thing?

RE: Fleetwood 26Y with twin beds

Look for a model 30E!I think a 30E is 30 ft long. Our RV must fit in a 27 ft long space. Plus the 30E comes with a queen bed as standard and twin beds as an option the same as the 26Y.

RE: Fleetwood 26Y with twin beds

Any thoughts of finding a similar floorplan and removing the one bed for 2 singles?Good thought! However, we like the twin-bed model because it has lots of cabinets above the twin beds. The queen bed model does not have these cabinets.

Fleetwood 26Y with twin beds

For over a year I have been looking for a Fleetwood 26Y (2004-2007) with twin beds. I found one last January. But it was 1200 miles away. And someone else bought it. Any suggestions re how I might track one down. (I have been using the "All of Craigslist" search.)
