RE: Want to keep it looking new

As said above--I got my Monaco years ago, 21 I think, and it still shines like new. It will have 100K on it in 300 more miles. First - no decals, its all painted and shines like new. Always kept inside, cleaned and waxed when not in use. Also you get what you pay for and you have to take care of it.

RE: Fifth Wheel Tag Renewal

And NC uses a dubious method. You add up personal property tax, inspection, and tags you pay as much as CA.

RE: SEEKING TOW VEHICLE VALUE??

I always priced it to sell. All that other info is just BS. You know what you will take so put that number on it, never let cash walk away as they never come back.

RE: Can I Dump Through Sewer Vent?

bukhrn maybe I wasn't clear. We had to submit our plumbing plan from the street to and including everything in the house to the city, they approved it and issued us a permit. Then as we built the place their inspector checked it along the way finally approving the entire installation. It is labeled RV dump. Anyway house is now about 7 years old and I have used it a lot and feel I have my but covered, I hope.

RE: Can I Dump Through Sewer Vent?

Might not make the city sewer administrators to happy. But--when we built our new house we had the plumbing fixed so I have a dump port that goes into the city sewer. They approved the plumbing so I guess in our case it was ok.

RE: Will pipes freeze overnight?

I never winterize. Electric heater inside and another in the wet compartment in the basement turned on as needed. Its parked here at home in NC where it does sometimes go down to Zero.

Ramps to drive up car sideways. Must not be over 102 in long. I have seen it done before

RE: Turning With A Long Bumper Pull Trailer

10-4 on the tail swing. Long ago I tore the whole side out of someone’s truck because of the tail swinging around. Costly mistake. If unsure stop get out and look. Let traffic wait

RE: How do you transport your golf cart?

This won't work for you but----a Smart car is smaller than most golf carts, you can drive them around in most camp grounds, also drive it to town with the a/c on, and cheaper than a golf cart. You go to a drag race and they are every where because they fit right up in that enclosed trailer where the golf cart USED to be.

RE: 2009 Tiffin Phaeton Engine Rebuild

Friend here says if core motor can be rebuilt a reman motor would be between 30, 40 thousand in a motor home. Cheaper in a truck.

RE: 2009 Tiffin Phaeton Engine Rebuild

I’ll put more in here later as my friend owns a shop that does this work all the time. But for now another friend 2 years ago cut a hole in his oil pan and ran it till it locked up. 1000+miles from home. Towing, reman engine, etc was $32,000. I’ll see what my friend here is charging these days tomorrow. Hope this helps.

RE: Reasonably decent towed vehicles for a Class A

As I said before, do what suits you. I have dollied and trailered all over the country and have never unhooked the trailer or dolly. But I also never rely on state, or federal parks. There may be some restrictions but I have never encountered them

RE: Dump stations

For the first time in a long time I had to come home with part full tanks because it was pouring rain this weekend. Its 40-50 mi from here to the nearest place to dump. At our house in town we had a connection into the city sewer and could dump at home. But from out here in the country it takes a long ride. Lots of pilots have dump stations and you have a place right there in Millersville that will let you dump for a fee that I have used before. Good luck

RE: Delete

Hard to fathom someone getting under a bus without any type of solid support. Pretty careless. Any way since you trust it, won't the jacks hold it up? I have had 3 Monacos and have seen the tire people change tires using the coach jacks. Or just pay a professional to change it. Good luck

RE: Reasonably decent towed vehicles for a Class A

I tow a Smart car. I have one set up with the Roadmaster deal so it can be flat towed and one that is not. I thought the Roadmaster deal was the way to go after reading about it forever but have only used it a couple of times as it takes to long to hook up and the first time I used it the "death wobble" got me. So, I use a dolly which allows me to tow any of our cars that are front wheel drive and takes no time to hook up. I also have a Featherlite car trailer if I want to take something else. I am also 82+ years old. Get what suits YOU and get on out here.

RE: I-77 WV

Its all good. I-95 in lower SC is awful but I still think I-10 in LA is the worst in the country. WV does pretty good considering the weather and terrain they have to deal with. Lots to see up there. I went up 19 from 77 to 79 a couple of years ago and didn't see anything wrong with 19. I have also made a few trips to SC in the last few years. Got to keep moving, getting old.
