RE: Central Pa to Delaware shore

I would look at 322 to 83, 695, 97, 50. 322 to 83 At exit 32, Newberrytown there is a very easy off an on for fuel at Rutters.
This is also a good choice but if you choose this route I would sign up for the alerts for the Bay Bridge, depending on when you go you might run into some very heavy traffic at the bridge. We signed up mostly for the wind advisories but almost every weekend we get the notices on major backups.

RE: Central Pa to Delaware shore

You can take 41 south at the Gap all the way to De then follow the signs for 95, take 95 south to Route 1 in De then stay on 1, there are tolls that way. Truck stop on 30 near Lancaster and also one on 41 below Gap, both on the right side heading south.

RE: CampersCard

Checked it out and already have a Lifetime Passport membership, don't feel, it's worth the additional cost for what's offered (at least for us).

RE: Bicycles

We carry two bikes in our front storage bin with the front wheels off and the forks in holders I mounted to the floor and the bikes each face the opposite direction, of course we have no generator or prepped for one.

RE: Road Side Assistance for Class 8 Truck Conversion

After digging around a bit, it looks like Good Sam is not good for big rig truck conversion RVs and it is little more than a very slow and bad call service. Might be OK for smaller RVs. I will self insure and call Love's roadside service when I need help. They are setup for big trucks.
thanks for the reply.
This is exactly what a majority do, I just had a friend have a blowout on his 5th wheel near Biloxi Mi yesterday and a tire service took 3-4 hours to assist him, not sure if or what service (if any) they had but when they called they were notified they were 3rd on his list.

RE: Road Side Assistance for Class 8 Truck Conversion

There is a current discussion on the class Road service (HDT's) on the Escapee's forum boards as one person found out that Good Sam Roadside will not tow him and Coachnet will not accept a truck that still has tandem rear axles, not even sure about tire service.

Sounds like a typical first trip, you have a great attitude and think you will adapt fine to the camping life style.

RE: cedar creek fifth wheels.good for full-time living?

They are good, we know quite a few folks that full time in them, if you can handle the higher price and weights look at the River Stone line, built the same way and are actually a spin off from Cedar Creek

RE: traction tracks

I saw a video of a guy using them or at least similar at a boondocking spot in soft dirt, worked good on his Volvo tractor pulling a Spacecraft 5th wheel

Go ahead and use your truck, there are a lot of us out here with class 8 trucks, we camp in mostly commercial or state campgrounds and with proper planning have not had a issue

RE: Jayco Dealer Recommendation

Friends bought a Jayco years ago from Whitehorse and were very pleased with the deal and any service they needed; we bought our previous Cedar Creek from Stoltzfus in Adamstown Pa and were also happy with the sale and service. Crossroads has good prices not sure about their service.

RE: rt 64 in new mexico

If your destination is Taos, allow me to recommend a different route: Head south on I25 to Walsenburg. Then turn west on Hwy 160. Go over LaVeta pass (a mild one with a wide road) to Fort Garland, CO, where you turn south on CO 159 / NM 522 into Taos. Easy peasy driving.
:)

This is the best route, (forgot about it) and the one we use the most, watch for the antelope along this route

RE: rt 64 in new mexico

We have driven from I-25 thru Raton, Cimerron and Santa Fe, the first 2 there are some real curvy sections and a good pass to come over after Angle Fire. Coming up from Santa Fe is a easier drive but longer, just take your time and you'll be fine, we do it with a 43' 5th wheel towed by a Kenworth tractor
