RE: Predator gennys?

Has anyone bought these gennys? Looking at 2 2000 watt units to power a/c when boondocking. There are much chealer and quieter choices, plus there is no Predator 2200w inverter generator. Just the 2000w. For example, you can get an A-1 Power 2300w inverter generator that has a 52db noise rating, for $400 at Sam's Club. Now the Predator 3500w inverter generator is a great buy, for quietness and price.

RE: Kge kipor ti

Looking for some help and information doing some imaintenance on our kipor generator. We want to replace it in-line fuel filter. Where is that fuel filter located I don't think that the Hybrid Travel Trailer section is the appropriate place for your questions.

RE: Cub C230 Manual

Looking for a manual pdf. hard copy etc. for 2000 Cub C230 Doesn't exist anywhere but it was most certainly a generic owners manual owners manual with no model-specific nor brand-specific information. Just basic RV systems information. Your only hope is finding someone who still owns a 24 year old Aerolite Cub hybrid.

RE: Seeking Suggestions for Hybrid Under 4,500 lbs. - THANKS!

Hi, My wife and I only camp a couple times each year and are looking to replace our 2003 Starcraft 17FK -- which is an acceptable size and we like having 2 pop-out beds (one for my wife and I, and the other for my grown son when he camps with us). A configuration having either 2 pop-out beds, or one stationary bed and one pop-out would work, if there is a make/model/configuration where you would not have to give up the table for the visitor bed. My tow vehicle is a 2022 Chevy Blazer, with a tow capacity max of 4,500 lbs. Thinking about used (maybe 2013 or newer). Would appreciate any suggestions. We're open minded to the possibilities. Thanks! Rick There is no hybrid with a stationary bed, that would be within your car's specs. You'll be limited to a hybrid with max REAL world tongue weight of 450lbs, which limits you to the smallest of hybrids, like your 17FK.

RE: 12 volt issue?

I stated 30 years ago. NO RV maker installs a 12 volt TV in a new RV and have not for over 25 years. Yes, you can find them, but 120 volt LCD is the cheapest best way to go. Doug You'd be wrong. Quite a few newer RVs come with factory 12v only tvs. I'm a moderator on a very large RV forum and see it quite often.

RE: How to Stabilize Pedestal Table Legs in Trailer w Soft Floor

Unfortunately your luan/styrofoam sandwich construction sub-flooring has probably gotten wet, causing soft spots.

RE: Is a roof leak covered by warranty?

I just discovered that my 2022 Jayco travel trailer which I bought in February, 2023 has a roof leak. Would a roof leak be a covered warranty item or will they say that a leaking seal (if that's what it is) is a maintenance item? Thanks, Stephen Gaines If you haven't inspected the caulking, then they'll probably deny it since that a maintenance issue. If the roof membrane is bad, then the it should be covered by the membrane manufacturer's warranty.

RE: What size waste tank to buy?

Since we only use our tote tank for gray water and there's only two of us, we went with the 15 gallon tank. Any bigger gets harder to deal with it. We're able to go at least 2 weeks without dumping our black tank.

RE: Champion 2500-Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generator

We were boondocking recently next to a guy who had a Champion generator. Couldn't hear myself think when he had it running. Was this an open frame generator or an inverter. I have two 2000 watt inverter units and they are both very quiet. I combine them when I need to run high power stuff but most of the time we run one of them in eco mode. That is enough to charge my TT batteries after running the furnace all night. To tell you the truth, I didn't notice. All that I noticed was that they were Champion. There's a big difference between a Champion inverter generator and a Champion open frame contractor-style generator. If your neighbor had a Honda open frame contractor-style generator, would you also say that Hondas are loud? As opposed to Honda and Yamaha, Champion has paid attention to the needs of RVers, by providing a huge variety of quiet inverter generators, including dual fuel.

RE: 1978 Holiday Rambler - 12V DC problems - no lights

The chances of finding such documentation, for a 45 year old defunct brand RV(even if they ever existed, which I doubt), are slim to none. You might find a RV restorer that might have some factory records.

RE: May have towed too much weight

Sorry! New to this…. Tv is Honda pilot and Tt is a 19mdble surveyor Max 55-60 One thing for sure, the trailer's loaded tongue weight is over your Pilot's max hitch weight of 500lbs. With a fantasy dry tongue weight of 470lbs, adding just the battery weight, it's over 500lbs. That's without the weights of factory options, dealer add-ons, water and trailer cargo.

RE: Generator dB rating

I find the dB ratings to be misleading, not useless. Some sounds within a rating can be more annoying. Then "quiet" generator is relative, A quiet Honda generator is quiet compared to an open frame construction generator. But hardly quiet. What I speak of is that.... You can carry on a conversation around the Honda ones.Good luck doing that to a Champion. That's funny and doubtful. Honda 2000 - 57db Champion 2000- 53 db How can the Honda be quieter with a higher db rating? I have never seen any of the quiet Champion ones. Then you need to, before passing judgement.

Nearly every owner of a Champion inverter generator, that I've seen post on various RV forums, loves their Champion.

RE: Are RV sewer hose supports necessary?

No Not sure where you camp but saying No, is incorrect. Many RV parks and campgrounds require them for full hookup sites.

RE: Fuel Ecomony - Towing

Thanks to all for your replies. The concern with fuel economy is not cost, but range. Trying to gain some confidence that a new gas 3/4 ton (probably Ford or GM) and leaning toward a Silverado w/ 6.6L and 3.73 rear end will go farther on a 34 gallon (or so) tank than the current truck takes me on a 25 gallon tank. Then get a F150 XLT 3.5 Ecoboost with Max Tow package. Gets you a 36 gallon fuel tank. Mixed mpg- 16+, Highway mpg- 19-20

RE: Trailer hitch height adjustment and chain question

It’s a single axle trailer; I’d be more concerned about the payload rating and tow rating of that car vs. the tongue weight and GVWR of that trailer. Clicky Totally Agree! I'm betting that the loaded tongue weight is exceeding the car's max hitch weight. I have an Audi Q5 2018 and according to the specifications, it seems to be capable of handling a 440-lb tongue weight. Can the 2018 Audi Q5 Tow? My trailer is called a Viking Saga 16sfb 2017, and I cannot find the specific characteristics for my year of production. However, for the new models of 2022, the Hitch Weight appears to be 363 lbs. If I understand correctly, this falls within the specification range. Specs for 2022 Coachmen - Viking Saga Floorplan: 16SFB The towing capacity of my car is 4,400-lb, which should be enough to cover the GWVR of 3,675-lb that my trailer has. Please correct me if I am wrong about anything. It's all new area for me Single axle trailers have much higher loaded tongue weights. Using the standard 13% of the trailer's GVWR, for a ballpark loaded tongue weight, puts it over 500lbs. NEVER believe fictitious brochure/website dry weight numbers. They don't factor the weights of batteries, factory options, dealer add-ons, water and trailer cargo. Once you add the weights of those things, the tongue weight really goes up. You need to weigh the trailer's loaded tongue weight. And you didn't post what the payload capacity of your car is. Should be on a driver's door sticker.

RE: I Bought A Travel Trailer I Had Never Seen (in person)

Back in 2006, we made a 4000 mile trip tp pick up our first new RV, sight unseen other than internet pics. We saved over $6k because of high West Coast prices. Bought from a family owned dealership. We would do it again as long as it was new.
