RE: Aqua Magic Style 2 - bowl leaks down

:) Hi, I just spray Silicone on the ball, around the seal. I found that just water and RV antifreeze will dry out the seal and it will drain, and stick. Manufacture says to only use silicone on the seal.

RE: Need recommendations for wireless rear view camera

:) Hi, for me, I chose a Garmin RV GPS with wireless back-up camera. Mostly because I didn't want another item or screen on my dash.
What I mean is that I will have to have a GPS anyway and don't want something like a Voyager back up camera adding another screen on my dash.

RE: GMC Class A

:) Hi, Oh the memories. Way back when????????? I was a mechanic at an Oldsmobile / GMC dealer. I worked on two of them. Or was it three? They had me exchange the rear interior of two Motorhomes with each other. I don't remeber what the difference was, but that is what the customer and the dealer wanted me to do. I believe that I also replaced or re-installed the rear suspension air bags. We called them Footballs because that is what they looked like before they were installed. I also rebuilt the automatic transmission on one of them. I think it was called a Turbo 425. It was the easiest automatic transmision that I ever rebuilt, but the hardest one to remove and re-install. They were very well built and drove very nice. I think there were only two sizes, a 23'er and a 26'er.
This was maybe 45 years ago, so I might have a few things wrong.

:) Hi, why is the owner guessing? All he has to do is open the driver's door and read the label.

RE: Harvest Hosts

:) Hi, I stayed at one Harvest Host, and it was for free. I am not a member. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Most stays are for one night only.
All, or most, are in a field / parking lot with no hook-ups.
Most seem to be at Wineries; We don't drink.
They want you to buy something at each place. I will if they have anything that I can use, or eat.
Some are located at museums. I like museums. Once again you will be camping in a parking lot.
You can't get a list of places unless you join. I would like to know what is available before I join.
Most of them want a reservation first, partially because some of them only have room for one RV.
Not sure if I can run my generator, which I might need since there are no hook-ups.
Once again, I am not a member. Correct me if I'm wrong.

RE: Towing with lifted truck; need assistance

:) Hi, this may not be what you want to hear, but it's the truth. A co-worker of mine had a lift kit installed on his truck and on his trailer. Shortly after, he rolled them both. Scared the 7734 out of him and he never towed again. Fortuneatly, no-one was badly hurt, just some briuses.

RE: Honda 2000 won’t run my late model home furnace

:) My furnace, HVAC system, runs on 240 volts. So my generator won't run it either.

RE: PSI when using higher load range tires.

My trailer had 4, D load range tires. From advice of many friends I've up graded to E load range. Just got a set of Good Year Endurance with max PSI of 80. Previous tires and trailer sticker says PSI 65.
Should I run 65, 80 or other PSI?
Visually the Load Range E look better at 80 PSI without a slight bulge.
:) Hi, I just did the same thing. I had Carlisle D rated ST tires on my trailer. At 80 lbs. it would most likely destroy my trailer. At 65 lbs. my E rated Goodyear Endurance tires have the same load rating as D rated tires do at the same pressure, 65 lbs. I set mine at 65 lbs. and the stiffer tire shook things loose that never happened before. I lowered them again, this time to 55 lbs. and all is well again.
Note: my trailer has a GVWR of 6,300 lbs. My pressure setting would most likely be too low for a heavier trailer.
According to the Goodyear Endurance inflation table, My size tire at 55 lbs. inflation = 2,270 lbs. each, X 4 = 9,080 lbs. That's more than enough for my trailer.

RE: Running a/c off generator while towing

:) Hi, I have my generator mounted in the bed of my truck, by the tailgate. I installed a generator inlet on the front of my trailer just for that purpose. This is so I can cool my trailer at rest stops, at boondocking sites, power outages in camp grounds, and to cool my trailer before I get to a camp ground in hot weather.

RE: No headlights problem please help

Jay,
You don't say what the chassis but most have the headlights on a separate fuse that is in the fuse group. Now you just have to find it and hope it is bad and that is all that is wrong.
Matt
Headlights are NOT fused. The lead for the headlight switch comes straight from battery power. The headlight switch does have a circuit breaker built in.
The headlight switch does have separate circuitry for the headlights and the parking/running lights. So the switch may be bad, even if the running/dash lights work.
You need to get out your VOM and check for voltage all along the wiring path for the headlights.
Richard
:) Hi, this is the correct answer; Also when you remove the headlight switch, look for a melted connector.

RE: Brake lights don't work

:) Hi, it might be the turn signal switch. If using the same bulbs for stop and turn, as most vehicles do, I would check the turn signal switch. The turn signal switch cancels the brake lights so you can have a turn signal on while braking. Some early GM vehicles had a problem with the hazard switch not returning all of the way and preventing the brake lights from working. Either case would need a turn signal switch replacement. (now days, sometimes called a multifunction switch)
