RE: Driver’s license for DPs

NC General Statute 20-37.16. (e) The requirements for a commercial drivers license do not apply to vehicles used for personal use such as recreational vehicles.

RE: Driver’s license for DPs

In NC anything over 26001 lbs required a B CDL. All I did was download the handbook for CDL and studied it one night. Then took the written test. I also had to drive my dp with the examiner with me. Piece of cake. Since switching back to a fiver I plan to keep the B license now that I have it. Not if it is a non-commercial motorhome. Check with DMV or NC General statutes.

RE: Back in the dark ages !

More wires give more surfaces for current to travel on. Finer the strands the greater number of surfaces. Considering the same size of wires.

RE: 25% better mpg from current diesels? Too good to be true?

I am not concerned with how far I can go on a gallon of fuel. My concern is how much it cost to get me there.

RE: In bed fuel transfer tank question

I have a Marine poly tank that is DOT certified for gas or diesel. I did a slight modification to my tool box and it fits perfectly in half of the box and is out of sight and locked. It holds 27 gallomns. I expect one that fit the whole tool box would hold 50-60 gallons. Combined with the truck tank I can carry 65 gallons.

It appears the critics have silenced another interesting topic. Merry Christmas to all.

RE: Truck starts on its own

Talked to my service writer, he said there is no way to disable auto start on a 2019, said that feature was started 2022. Said probably a wifi signal close to my house

RE: Truck starts on its own

Probably neighbors have remote start for their vehicles. Like house keys, one key fits many houses....Many devises use the same frequency.

RE: Truck starts on its own

There have been cases where TV remotes opened garage doors.

RE: Adhesive for insulation foam board

Use a temporary sheet of plywood inside ubder the ceiling supported by temporary bracing down to floor. This will give support as you finish work on roof. Once roof is replaced use weights on top pressing it down to ceiling inside. This will be like clamping the ceiling and roof together. Best to have all material ready and assembled before any glue begins to cure. Loctite PL3 should work for all your needs. Read the instructions on the tube. Using a chaulk gun and an old brush will insure a 100% coverage of glue to all the surfaces.

RE: Battery Bank Location

In our class A I built 2 double decker battery trays with one sitting on each inside of the grille. The lower batteries slide out for service and the top batteries are serviced from the top. The original batteries I installed were each 12V 125ah but the replacement ones are 115ah. They have lasted for several years and stay cool. With Kyocera Solar Panels and a Magnum Energy 2,000 Watt Inverter we operate most all appliances in the coach.

RE: Shopping new tires - is my shop confused or am I?

High mileage tires have a harder rubber compound than low mileage tires. That is why tires have 40,000 miles or 80,000 miles ratings.
