RE: Fifth wheel Jerking with gas truck... not as noticeable

They are still having issues. Look at the youtube video "Why We Ditched The Andersen Hitch". I did s simple search "Andersen Ultimate 2 hitch failures".

RE: B&W Companion hitch removal

I'm sorry but that B&W comes apart to make two VERY MANAGEABLE pcs. I'm 65 and can easily lift each pc with one hand. I think people need toys for their implements. you make me wonder when you make post like this....are you suggesting lifting that much weight is really safe? one hand...give me a break! I did say to make that specific hitch in two pcs. YES "I" can do that. Just making a point that the overhead lift is not really "needed" but people like toys!!! Head 70# and base 129#.

RE: B&W Companion hitch removal

https://i.imgur.com/J2uQYjTl.jpg I thought I was seeing a picture of my garage with your setup , same thing I did . It's kind of obsolete now , got rid of the that heavy manual slider I had for years ,and went to the Andersen . No more taking hitches apart , greasing , etc. Live has been much easier . RE: Fifth wheel Jerking with gas truck... not as noticeable

EASY!!! It's your CURT hitch. Look at how low the pivot point is on the CURT. FACT it can cause a chucking feeling. Compare to the B&W that has it's pivot point at the height of the kingpin. https://i.imgur.com/sPAIusZl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5cAtNbbl.jpg What took you so long . It's sure possible it's the hitch . He is a great candidate for the Andersen , and IMO would solve his problem . I am sure you will agree on the Andersen with the weight he has , no need for some expensive hitch . If they made it to attach to the pucks instead of relying on thin beds to support the fore and aft and make the tubing stronger I would consider it for a 12 RV. YES the CURT can cause a chucking sensation that's a fact.

RE: '21 RAM Big Horn 3500 DRW CC/LB 4x4 with NEXEN Tire WOES!

38,000 miles on my Michelin LTX MS2 tires and they have been great and are wearing great! I assume you had your front aligned to nearly ZERO toe??? No alignment changes...still set from factory. I have seen your post about that...but I never had an issue with wear on the front tires. I do rotate the front tires only side to side every 10,000 miles. All good so far :) VERY interesting!!! Are you the original owner? yes, original owner bought new...less than 20 miles on it when I picked it up. Maybe, I got lucky :) You are lucky!!!

RE: '21 RAM Big Horn 3500 DRW CC/LB 4x4 with NEXEN Tire WOES!

PROBEM SOLVED: As a few members posted, an LT245/75R17E size tire will fit the 2021 RAM 3500 1-Ton dually. Was also able to find the tires I wanted all along in that size tire... the Michelin Defender LTX M/S and/or a Michelin LTX M/S2 tire. Bought a set of 6 Michelin LTX M/S2s from Tire Buyer dot com. These are the same tires I had on my previous Tow Vehicle (2011 RAM 2500 CC/LB 4x4). Hopefully this post will help someone else to DUMP the NEXEN tires and find a good Michelin Defender/LTX M/S2 set of replacement tires for a RAM 3500 DRW Tow vehicle. It was a costly lesson for me, but now I have 100% confidence in the tires to drive with peace of mind and comfort. Hard to put a price on that... THANKS to all for your inputs, even those with the snide comments. I won't bother with another 'silly' post or 'complain' on the forum again. Jack I have to ask what are the date codes on the obsolete MS2's???

Are you the original owner? I had my truck set to the Thuren specs after the drag link recall replacement from whatever it was to near O toe. I too have never had any unusual tire wear prior to this alignment , hope that doesn't change ,setting to these Thuren specs . This is my third set of tires . Not sure how much water this holds ,this near 0 toe . Been hearing this since I've owned the truck . We will see . I see no difference in handling , road wander etc . This is the first alignment my truck has had since new , 9 years . Not sure why, mostly because I had the drag link replaced . To add my son is on his third Ram since 2008 , and its used daily for work ,lot of miles ,and he's never had one of his trucks aligned ,and again no unusual tire wear . Beginning to wonder about this 0 toe thing . Kinda funny that the manufacturer of these trucks don't set the toe to nearly 0 ,makes you wonder . I don't believe I have ever recommended the near ZERO toe spec for a SRW truck. I only comment and recommend this to DRW trucks.

RE: '21 RAM Big Horn 3500 DRW CC/LB 4x4 with NEXEN Tire WOES!

Had Manager at a NW WA Discount Tire give me a price out the door $2,004.24 for the Michelin LTX AT2's six total for my RAM DRW. Costco was $2,097.44 I think that was without tax.

38,000 miles on my Michelin LTX MS2 tires and they have been great and are wearing great! Mine are at 67k and still LEGAL. Don't know of anyone getting that mileage towing 1/2 the miles with a 6k pin. I do adjust the rears to 30psi when running BobTail. I keep the fronts at 80psi ALWAYS.

RE: What happens when you overfill tanks.....

If your black tank has a tank flush on it, if you leave that run by mistake yes, it will overfill and will come out the vent pipe on the roof. All tanks have a vent of some type so they will drain. Be very careful you are not distracted when you use the black tank flush and forget to shut it off. I ALWAYS SET THE TIMER on my phone!!!!!!!!!!! Distracted dumping can end up being a real SH!TTY experience. :B I only give ours a minute or less of flush. How much should I be doing it? How should I be doing it? This is my first RV with a flush option. I fill the black and grey tanks 10 minutes and drain then close and fill black tank for another 10 minutes. Black tank stays closed and grey stays open normally.

RE: '21 RAM Big Horn 3500 DRW CC/LB 4x4 with NEXEN Tire WOES!

I have been saying dump NEXEN's since 2015 and sell them on CL. I had a set of Michelins waiting to install when my factory ordered 15 LongHorn arrived. Installed the new tires at 200 miles and sold the NEXEN's for $650 first call. The MS Michelins only lasted 40k and I received $650 to buy any tire I wanted because warranty was 60k. I bought the same, as the Manager at Discount Tire said they did have issues but they were corrected. Fast forward those Michelin's now have 67k and are still "legal" but will be getting replaced soon. OP I have the same situation with the three tires and what is available now, not the MS2's. Stick with the OE tire size or you will be screwing with your gear ratio. I am sure I will be buying the LTX AT2, I will post my price when I talk to my manager I mentioned. Also get your front end aligned!!!!! Set toe to 1/64" toe in. You WILL thank me. X2! To both the tires and the alignment! Had outside edge wear with factory alignment . So changed the fronts early to rears, only got 47k with heavy edge wear. I changed the front alignment to 1/64 and replacements are wearing evenly.. YEP!!! My alignment guy in 2012 told me the factory spec was too much at 1/4" toe and I listened to him and since I have recommended this spec.

RE: '21 RAM Big Horn 3500 DRW CC/LB 4x4 with NEXEN Tire WOES!

My 2011 LongHorn DRW came with the POS General's. 30k a front tire delaminated and went straight to LasVegas Discount Tire ordered the Michelins and they had them installed next morning. Over a million miles driving on Michelins I have never had a single tire issue. Only disappointment was only getting 40k on the set I mentioned on my DRW but they compensated me for that.
