RE: Slide Out Storage Capacity

my slide houses a 4 person dinette so at 200 pounds per person it should easily support 800 pounds. only 2 of us ever sit in the dinette so if there were space (there isn't) I could stuff 400 pounds in and not worry about it. Don't over think stuff

RE: Extension Hitch Question

biggest concern to me is the trailer jack hitting the camper on a tight turn. Set it up and make a tight turn with a spotter to make sure you can corner as tight as you feel you will need to on the road without any part of the trailer hitting the camper

RE: Camper Tie-down Pros/Cons

I would look for some options. Perhaps you can find a reasonably priced and safe place to store the camper until you have a suitable truck. Another option would be to pay to have it transported.
Update: I upgraded trucks, I'm running a 2016 Chevy 3500 now. I'm planning to pick up the camper this weekend.
In order to transport home, would heavy duty 2k+ lb. Rated ratchet straps do the trick? I was looking at torklift.com is this the industry leader for tie downs? Definitely my next purchase once I get my next paycheck.
TIA
in the short run just to get it home, yes if you drive really easy and watch the bumps. And torklift is the gold standard

RE: Foaming diesel

On the fords from that era they used the same fuel tank a the gas engine with a long breather tube that caused the foaming you see, When they switched to the 6.7 they chanded the tank configuration and tube length and no more foaming issue

RE: Carbon Monoxide alarm going off

go by the local fire station and see if they have a gas detector ( most truck companies carry them, engine companies usually don't). If they do it will tell them what kind of gas you are dealing with and it can tell where the PPM concentration is highest in your rig. They would prefer no to respond to dead or sick people in your rig and should be happy to help.

RE: Truck camper and towing

Supertruss
Says 6000/600 at 48" without WD.
Anyone dragging these things on the ground at grade changes? Seems like it wouldn't take much at 48". Might at least want to deal with the suspension sag caused by the camper + tongue.
Yeah, me which is why I installed the torklift skid roller on my 42" supertruss

RE: Lance 1062 - Access to wires/pipes under the kitchen sink

After looking at the picture, I have a few more ideas. Can you access from the front compartment?
Can you reach if you pull the drawers out?
If there is a compartment on the outside of the slide, can you take a panel out or cut an access hole.

JM all the waterlines are to the right of the faucet, the water pump is fixed to the front wall of the camper and flex lines go to the sink and water heater . the water heater is directly behind the faucet and has an outside hatch, that's really it

RE: Lance 1062 - Access to wires/pipes under the kitchen sink

I just went out and looked at my 2019 1062. the sink is screwed into the bottom of the counter top. You can access the back screws from the countertop trash can opening. The only other option I see is with the camper off the truck and the slide out you might be able to remove the underside panel (not the slide floor bottom) by removing the metal angle plate and getting to the plumbing that way.

RE: Fridge Issues

check the overheat fire prevention switch If it tripped the pilot will not light no matter what you do. First check that there is no yellow residue anywhere in the back of the fridge. if there is you need a new cooling unit (4 hour swap) if not check the switch there are you tube videos on that. Magnetic ones can be reset. the two wire with a center pin on the chimney above the burner has to be replaced

RE: How 4-season are 4 seasons Lances?

the better you insulate your camper the fewer times your furnace cycles and the less power you draw. I also switch to flannel sheets and trick down comforters in the winter. We like the camper cool when we sleep at night so the thermostat is usually set for 55F Daytime 65F. Neither of us likes being in a hot room.

RE: How 4-season are 4 seasons Lances?

I have camped down to -5F in my old non 4 season Lance 1055. My new Lance 1062 is only marginally better. I will still do a full inside the entry door layer of refelctix. Same for windows and skyights plus use the snap on pads for the sky lights. I also put fiberglass batting behind every external compartment door and in the waste valve area just like I did in the 1055.

RE: Truck tires

I had separation issues on my Dually. PO had put aftermarket wheels on an it put the sidewalls of the rear tires too close to each other and they would overheat. There really should be well over an inch of space between the closest part of the two tires under load. I ended up putting in a spacer. I haven't had a blow out in 5 years since I did it vs one inner dually a year on the right side ( high crown loads).

RE: rear-view camera

good afternoon...... thanks for reply's.... Question I have regarding rear view cameras>>>. I'm looking for guidance not only backing up in reverse, BUT also as I tow my Geo-tracker or anything else to check while driving will they allow that?????? when T/C is loaded???
If the camera i listed as rearview it is designed for full time use, back up cameras are designed for use when backing only.
Some companies make multiple camera systems. I have a 3 camera. one on the back of the camper, one on the back of the horse trailer an one inside the horse trailer to monitor the horse in transit. Mine is by Tadibrothers

RE: DRW vs SRW safety, tire blowout

having had a rear tire blow out ( full disintegration not a slow loss of air) on both a F350 SRW and and F350 DRW at freeway speed with a 4600 pound Lance 1055 in the bed. I can honestly say that controlling the vehicle an bringing it to a full stop in the DRW was a piece of cake. The SRW was a white knuckle affair to keep from rolling and I am a trained Emergency Vehicle operator (fire engines and ambulances). I will stick with DRWs

RE: Sway bar for F350 pia

I had a 2003 F350 4x4 longbed with Airlift 5000 bags and a roadmaster anti sway bar and it fit fine. As I remember there were 2 models of anti sway bars from roadmaster one that fit with airbags.
