Now sources familiar with the matter told Electrek that the drive axle production line is ready and the general assembly line is going through its final debugging before starting production.

It is one of the last steps before starting production of the all-electric truck.

Where would Tesla production be without the words "nearly", "almost", "upcoming", "predicted", "awaiting", and the infamous "just around the corner". [emoticon]

So you left the corner and did not see when Tesla passed by with a full electric vehicle that everyone, must have included you, won't come up with one?

So far haven't seen the full electric semi, must be just around the corner? I'm just commenting on the perpetually upcoming semi, since that is what this thread is about.

There have been test versions on the road for years but they really didn't make financial sense due to low fuel price and high battery price. Now that fuel prices have gone up, battery prices have come down and battery production lines are in place all of the pieces of the puzzle are falling place.

In spite of the fact that Elon is often reported as one of the world's richest men he and Tesla both have been cash poor and really had to watch their cash flow. Cars kept the cash flowing better than semis would have. With 2 more gigafactories going into production by next spring Tesla should have a lot better cash flow soon.

At least Elon is not using taxpayer money. Even though subsidies have ended for Tesla he still makes a more compelling product than the Bolt are really every other competitor, which are all getting subsidies. The semi is not nearly as far behind as the Boeing/Lockheed rocket being developed for NASA. Sometimes new things take longer to come to fruition than expected to.

Need a new factory first. All other factories are producing previously perpetually upcoming vehicles at max capacity 7 days a week. Go to Texas and see the new factory under construction.

Yes, yes I know all that, but all you hear is how soon it's going to be here, when, in fact, it's a couple years away, when this thread first started. I just get tired of no one being realistic. If it's going to be two years, say so, or say "I don't know". An amazing phrase that should be used more often, especially when anybody is predicting new model releases.

Oh, good gawd no. Don't really need a semi, and all the Tesla's are out of my price range.

So what's causing all that hang up about Tesla's delay in producing the semis?[emoticon][emoticon]
