Topic: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

Posted By: stsmark on 06/30/21 06:36pm

Randy Pobst and the Plaid won the Exhibition Div. He actually came in 10th overall. 9th was a 1996 BMW M3. Not knocking the car but facts are just that.
I’m actually surprised we haven’t seen one wrapped up in a ball yet.

The Tesla is street legal, handles well, and is fast with 5 people inside an air conditioned cabin. That Mustang is useless for anything other than turning money into smoke.
But it also looks way cool. The Tesla looks like a four-door sedan. There's a reason nobody hotrods four-door sedans.

Well theres always somebody [emoticon]

The 200-kWh battery is said to provide up to 620 miles of range, but certainly that number will be achievable only under very light use; hitting the track for some flat-out hot laps will cut that estimate considerably.

That's what I like about Elon, continuous improvement, sometimes free even on fishes already hooked. And delivers better than initially promised (except on those pesky production delays, lol).

Every time I see this topic at the top, I get excited to think that my groceries are going to arrive via electric semi.

Then I just see that it has nothing to due with vehicles that are late.

You got your hyperbole confused.

Unless you own Walmart, your groceries won't be delivered by semis.[emoticon][emoticon][emoticon][emoticon]

Most likely, drones or those smart carts like in that pizza commercial.

That is, if you live long enough.[emoticon]

I don't know about continuous improvement, but there is continuous updates that may, or may not, actually occur. So far we've seen exactly squat.

If you are my dad (thank gawd), I'll be worried with possible Alzheimer, dementia or psychiatric denial for not remembering that Elon did come up with truly full electric car and there was no auto-pilot before.[emoticon][emoticon][emoticon][emoticon]

Since this thread is about the Tesla semi, that is what I was referring to, not Tesla vehicles in general. Lots of hype, no real data. Situational awareness is a good thing. [emoticon]

Apology accepted. [emoticon]
