So Tesla is planning a battery manufacturing in Texas also instead of doing and sourcing it centrally from their Giga in Sparks. NV.

Maybe they changed plans and would eventually transfer the Fremont car assembly to the yuge space still available in NV.

Every factory is short on battery cells. Every new factory will need to include building cells for the assembly line. Still production constrained.

Last I read you cannot buy a PowerWall unless you are also buying solar for the roof. Battery shortage continues.

Indeed, materiaal shortage and attempts of innovation and substitution.

Looks like semi got pushed back again, now next year...maybe. [emoticon]

Cybertruck pre-production late this year, so actual production may not start until next year. One of these days...[emoticon]

. I’m going with second quarter...for now. Pretty much for sure Rivian and Hummer will beat them to production.

I wonder what happened?

Cybetruck would seem to jump ahead of the semis which was originally scheduled October last year.

It might be that there simply isn't enough battery production to make the semi's viable, but the Cybertruck may be able to be supplied. They might be able to supply 15 Cybertrucks with the same number of batteries that would go into a semi. Anybody's guess.

Personally I think the serious electric truck buyers will wait on the Tesla model. Rivian simply has no track record to speak of. People know Tesla can build Ev's and Rivian is still pretty much of a question mark.
