Well that's sad to hear. I wonder if there is some weird regulation requiring the old style gauges. I know some higher end TH and motor homes have the new style gauges

Within a few months the grey and black tanks quit giving accurate data. |

They ship units off as soon as they are built. Get in touch with Host when their next build of a Rainier is scheduled. I think right now the Mammoth the filling most of their production cue. Seeing the construction methods at the factory are worthwhile even if you are looking at different model being built. If I didn't like what I saw at the factory, I would not have bought my Host. In talking with Randall, it sounds like they have their production scheduled out pretty well so they can probably tell you almost down to the day when a Rainier will be in the build state you want to see it. |

I shot him an email, l plan on installing hydronic heating in the camper I end up getting so seeing a unit under construction will give me a better idea of what will work. |

I actually requested them to install the seelevel gauges but it was told they weren't allowed to. I didn't question their reasoning for that. When I ordered our Mammoth, this was the first thing I asked for on my list... Like you said, I got the, "No we don't install the SeeLevel Gauges". So when I was at the factory during the tour, I asked Randall why they did not install or offer the options for the SeeLevel gauges. He responded something like this, "These gauges are extremely complex to install at the time of production, and the tanks are already wired for the standard gauges, besides the sensors are so sensitive that for the long term, its' easier to offer the standard gauges" This was not verbatim, however this was a recap of what he said. I ordered our SeeLevel gauges as soon as our Mammoth came in, I have not installed them yet, however they are here, I had them on my 1121 Lance, and don't know how I could live without them... LOL |

I got them installed at the factory, but... 1) They have to modify the wiring harness to make them work.. they do not like that. 2) The foam that they use to locate the tanks rubs on them, causing problems. Mine the foam rubbing on it separated it from the grey tank.. until I pulled the cover, cut back the foam in that area and re-attached the sensor. 2) They have to find/mod the water pump switch and technically, the way they do it just wrong in my book. Yes, it works, but it really should be a remote latching relay with push on/off switch type deal, like this. Yes, all the power for the water pump goes all the way up to the fuse panel at head level, and then all the way back down. Really. You can easily get 0.2 or 0.3 volt drop in their wiring system. I always prefer any DC currents over 1amp to be fused, relayed and short cable runs.. |

You can get new one well optioned for less than that. Someone overpaid or is greedy and trying to make a profit.
