Bob just sent me this, glad to see some of the old members on here. I hate to say it but out rv hasn't rolled a tire in 4 years, I was against a rock, a big rock, and instead of backing up I just floored it, it climbed over it but at the cost of my transmission, melted the plates and all we have is drive, no park or reverse. I had to keep going around the block to get it home, I know I was dumb, I just got a new trans out of a 3/4 ton chevy and it is in my shop, just got to find the time to change it. Teri has been quilting a lot so I build her a sewing room off the back of the house, just got the tin roof on last week, its finished inside but needs the siding outside. It sure would be nice if we could all get together again, I sure miss the old group, I know that some have passed on, but there are enough of us left to have a great time. I don't remember if I posted that we lost our 2 chessies sonny & choc, but we have a rescue chessie named riley and a red setter named Jenny.

Good to hear from you, Twin! (That's Jon to other folks.) We've missed a couple years of birthday wishes together. Next year is a biggie! Your flying escapades sound great--Dave would envy that experience. Take care and stay healthy.

Those of you who winter in Yuma, what's your favorite place and does it have an age restriction on one's rig? Also, do any of you get dental work done at the city across the border? Tom's considering getting some crowns done there so I wanted to find out if any of you had done so, too.

Ha! I'm back and I have a new rig! We should really try to revive this group. We still have our old 2004 Skyline Nomad trailer and Suburban but we have sent it into semi-retirement as it has served us VERY well over the years. I say semi-retirement because it's still our Burning Man rig (yes, we're godless heathens, sorry about that). There's no way I'm taking our new Mirada anywhere near the playa. I can't wait to get out on the road. We've shut our entire farm down now except for a handful of aging chickens and are downsizing things now. Tom's job went belly up earlier this year but thanks to very judicious savings for the last 40 years or so, we're able to go on the road semi-full time now. We've already gone across the country twice with the Suburban and Nomad trailer (she took a real beating and is held together with hope and screws now) but there's still so much more of America to see. Our new-to-us rig is longer than I'd like so we're going to have a hard time fitting into many national and state parks but it's a good layout for us to semi-full time in. So.....what's new with you?? |
