We're still hoping someone will step up to be the wagon masters for the rally. I know the rally isn't for another 6 months and most of the planning has already been done, but we still need to "pass the baton" (and all the supplies) to someone else.

Looks as if there was a extremely big hiccup on Oregon's trip to the national title last nite. It's not as if Oregon didn't have the talent to win, they were just like all th other teams that have played Stanford, outcoached. I,like a lot of others, think that the loss to Utah was the team being to sure of themselves and getting down and not getting back up in time. When the Cougars played Stanford, they were ready for the running game and Stanford came out throwing the ball and the Cougs never got re-adjusted.

Hi y'all,

We finally put our heads and our notes together and put them on a blog where we'll post other stuff about our adventures on the east coast. If you want to read more details than what I posted earlier in this thread about our trip to FL, click here to read our blog. There is also a link in my signature. We posted daily notes as if we were posting daily while on the road, so you'd need to start reading at the end in order to start at the beginning of our trip, then start reading backwards. [emoticon] If that doesn't make sense, you'll figure it out. [emoticon]

It's supposed to get windy tonight and cold tomorrow night, around 40, but then warm back up by the weekend. Probably be warmer in Seattle than here in Jacksonville. [emoticon]

Well, as of Monday, I'm unemployed. Got RIF'd, but interestingly, they are bringing me back Monday on a four week contract. In the meantime I'm looking for a longer term gig. I got a feeling that I'm looking at after the first of the year. Means trip to Arizona this winter is up in the air.

John,

Sorry to hear that. That is an odd one for sure...let you go then bring you back as a contractor. I hope you're getting paid more as a contractor though. [emoticon]

I know how you feel though. King County went to great lengths to get me to leave just so they could eliminate my position. That way, they didn't look like the bad guys that they really were. Oh well, I'm in not so sunny Florida now. [emoticon]

Yeah, it was warmer in Seattle than it was here this morning, and it still is at noon local time. Got to love the weather. [emoticon] [emoticon]

You can always get a CDL B and drive a school bus at $15+ an hour,or less,in some districts. I told my boss that if Sea-Tac passes the $15 minimum wage, then I'm gonna need more than $14.98 an hour to drive a busload of screaming elementary kids to and from school.High and middle school are ok,but it's the little ones that make me remember why I retired. Just doing subbing now,but no-one has any subs and so we're doing trips for other istricts.

Gee whiz... where is everybody??? One oregon wins and the other loses.. One washington wins and the other loses.. The Seahawks go big and there's still no-one on here.
Oh well,I'm headed for San Diego for 8 days starting next week and was going to go to Yuma, but Tradewinds says he's gonna be up here. Bummer...Went to the dr and now she says that my latest blood work says that I've got diabetes. [emoticon] Went to my nose dr today and she tells me that since I was taking Predisone at the time of the glucose tolerance test that it may have given a false reading.[emoticon] I almost barfed on that stuff they give you for the test,55 grams of cdorn syrup in a little bit of liquid and flavoring. Good grief,no wonder it looks as if you have a problem, that's almost a cup of pure sugar and that would make anyone sick.[emoticon]

Bigdog,

Come on up to Sun City and visit us. We are about a 3-4 hour drive on past Yuma and LOTS more to do and enjoy!! Since we have been here, it's only been in the 70's several times! It is overcast - for here - and the temps dropping into the low to mid 70's for several days, then back up!

It's real rough down here, but someone has to enjoy it![emoticon]

Had a lot more fun and an easier time watching the Hawks Sunday than the previous 2 weeks. Disappointed and disgusted with the Huskies first 5 minutes of their game!

Your going to have to excuse Ron and his statement there is more to do where he is living. He just does not understand that its fun to have your jeep laying its side just after telling the others to watch, "because your not going to believe what I am about to do with this jeep". Duh, I got towed home this week. Ron, just a big city kind of guy. Honestly lots to do in his area. Sorry to miss you Jon but I am out of here in the morning. Come see me at the tree lot across from Lowes....
