Topic: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Posted By: jchall on 03/19/12 09:09am

Yesterday I took the cover off my camper, Come On Spring!

Not really doing too much with the camper at the moment, well, I did dump the black tank again last night, it was full.

I have been working on my new garage stall in the park barn so I can move my extra living gear in some place a little safer from the weather [emoticon].

Made its ride platform a little better by installing four new R9000 Rancho shocks, changed the oil and greased everything. Only 5 weeks before we leave on our cross country 6 mo trip.

Had a talk with the camper, told her that I had not forgotten about her, and that winter is almost over. So don't fret. And that she will be riding on new tires and rims (19.5), and a bigger sway bar in front. She was a happy camper!

Trimmed my 2.5" reese hitch extension to 26" mark
Dacor done on roof
Fixed a charging issue for 2 current house batteries
Added wiring for 2 batteries

Later this week adding 2 Deka AGM 31's.(already ordered)

Repaired the outside shower and re-installed using SS screws and Eternabond caulk.

Installed two sealed 14 diode LED clearance lights and sealed the hole that the wires came through along with the screw holes. NO MORE clearance light lends leaking and rotting the front end!!! Tested installation - all good.

Started re-caulking all seams, trim, and joints with ProFlex RV caulk.

Me too! But I am next week! I'll post trip photos then.

Tonite though, I started installing the new LED marker lights. I only put two on the front so far and then it got dark. Here are a few comparison photos. I like the LEDs. They are brighter and seem to have a more yellow glow, albeit a lighter yellow than the OEM lights. 12 to go before we leave next Wednesday..

And here is one just for fun... Only the front 2 side marker lights have been replaced so far... I ran out of time and will be gone until next Monday. the rest may have to wait until we get back!

Ordered a new airlift bellows for the driver's side, replacing anything that might have been damaged in the big bump last October.

Installed a battery watering system cause they were impossible to get to without removing them....
