Topic: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Posted By: WVbassmistress on 06/12/15 07:03am

We have a problem with the mattress pad "pockets" being too deep for the mattress we have in the TC. I hate sleeping on wrinkled, loose sheets and this thing will slip off at the corners, taking the bottom fitted sheet with it. I don't know about you, but it is a "B-word" making up the bed in our camper and I sure don't like to have to re-do the sheets every morning.

So I spent the evening sewing a "drawstring" around the mattress pad so I can tighten it up after getting it on the mattress. I have "RV" sheets so the pockets are not as long. Hopefully they will stay on if I can control the wayward mattress pad.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Other than that, I am in the packing phase of my first camping trip with my 3 grandsons. 8, 6 and 5 year olds who have never been camping. YIKES!!!!!

Installed 200W solar system with MPPT controller and remote monitoring module all from Renogy. Also replaced the entry door frosted glass with regular tinted glass. It was a kit from Ross RV Innovations.

Not today but about two weeks ago while we were on the road. My 8 year old AGM gave up the 7 yo was still working. I ordered two Universal Group 31's from Ebay. While charging I wanted to see if there was any voltage drop from the house bat to the second which wired in using no4 gauge with a run of feet. There was no drop what so ever. This is the first time I've had two battery's of the same age and manufacturer. If they last for 8 years I'll be very satisfied.

I'm getting ready to take it off the truck, which isn't my normal practice mid summer. It always stays on all year, but when it (the truck) was at the dealer getting wire harnesses replaced, the idiot technician that worked on the truck didn't line up the lift correctly and smashed the rocker panel on the passenger side. I'm removing the camper so they can fix the truck.

BEWARE OF AUTO NATION CHEVROLET SPOKANE! I can guarantee I will never go back there.

The 1181 has 2 draws beside the fridge under a closet/storage area. during the last trip the bottom dropped in the back. I removed the draw and found this

started by tapping the supports back into place and adding screws

then added some 2x2 supports to hopefully keep all the bouncing from pulling the draw framing apart

If this doesn't hold then it'll be rebuilding

like many I was tired of not being able to see through the frosted door glass. when digging through some stuff a few weeks back I found the door to the old TC we had stripped and found the glass was tinted, not frosted. I remove the tinted glass from the old door and replace the frosted glass in the new camper.
