Topic: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Posted By: Buzzcut1 on 09/09/14 10:18pm

Loaded in the fly rods, waders, outdoor clothes, water is full, propane is topped off. I still have food to rustle up, Kayaks to load...looking forward to 9 days on the road. Still have to swap out my 16's for the 19.5s but that will be done by Friday.

Yesterday I washed and waxed the entire rig! It SHINES! (I like shiny.. [emoticon] ) Then last night I replaced all the old area rugs, towels, bedding, etc. I had in the Weekender that were in blues with new ones in greens, browns, etc. that I purchased for it to coordinate with the color scheme. I was Mr. decorator! [emoticon]

I turned on the fridge.
I took the sheets off the bed.
I loaded some clothes.
I wondered why I didn't empty the fresh water tank after the last trip.

Installed all new led bulbs, replaced tv (hey it is college football season) and reconfigured power (DC and AC access), cables and installation, added new interior HDTV antenna and have the components to install a new King- Jack exterior HDTV mountable head on current exterior antenna mast,; also added Sirius Sat Radio in place of old radio.

...and.. next week replacing my POS propane generator (total of 145 hrs in 8 years of use and broken constantly) with a new Onan. Hope this one works out better!

Uloaded TC in its new resting spot and watched it do some disturbing twisting as it came up to freestanding because of the uneven grade the truck sits on. No worries, improve things soon.

Nothing physically, thought a lot about it add finally got word on new bathroom components.......finally on their way via FedEx. Sure hope they treat this shipment better than the last one consisting of the new AC unit! A replacement was sent and supplier said to just throw the original in the trash! It's still sitting in my barn with cracked drain pan and a few, very few, vent find. Guess it will be a back up for the one we installed. LOL ANYWAY, install scheduled next week, hope, fix one sheet of ceiling paneling in cab over and add dedicated breakers for microwave and AC then it will function like new at less then a fourth of the cost of new and no worries about minor owwies along the way.

Tinkered with the interior some, just cleaning it mostly.

Heading out on a trip tomorrow, just a weekend trip.

I converted the shore cable from mouse-hole style to Marinco detachable. I didn't want to drill any new holes in the side so it comes out the bottom, not ideal but manageable.

I had to get it done before it gets too cold here, that cable was unmanageable when cold.

Added door supports to my hamper/storage area's in my 10-2 cd se on the sides of the bed. The window's frame prevent's them from standing up on their own, it's a PIA when lying down, and holding it open with one arm and trying to see where my DW put everything for me. She'll be thrilled next time she does my packing and find's that they now stay open. Can't wait to see her reaction. Amazing what $10.00 can do for you.Priceless.
