Topic: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Posted By: work2fish on 06/23/14 04:35pm

This weekend, I removed the old four scissor step setup from the previous owner and installed a 5 step Glow Step and Glow Guide setup:

Much easier for this old man to get into his camper to do more work now... [emoticon]

The previous owner must have had a truck that was lower than mine and the originally steps were too slanted and narrow. I was not able to find a suitable location to attach the Glow Guide to the back of the camper when not in use due to the handle near the door which I wanted to keep intact. I also had to remove the bracket that held the old 4 scissor steps and plugged the holes with silicone.

No need to use a separate Thread, Much easier to moderate if all posts are in the same thread, regardless of subject.

After living with a faulty AC system in the truck, This weekend I finally found the source of the problem. A wire in the harness routed under the battery tray had been rubbing and chafing on the battery tray creating an exposed wire through the wire insulation. I pulled the harness and repaired the wire then put the harness back together and taped it all up. So nice to finally have reliable AC in the truck now. Unfortunately, my instrument gauges have all stopped working. The gauges will eventually start working again but it goes to show if it ain't one thing, it's something else.
Going to defrost and clean the fridge and freezer tomorrow and some other minor prep and cleaning before heading to the Washington State TC Rally this weekend.

Finally got the camera part of my TADI Brothers wireless setup installed. Bought the set during the winter and got the TC out of storage last weekend. The camera/monitor works great - now I can see what's going on behind me.
