Now I just need it to stop raining so I can finish de-winterizing, fill the FW tank and check for leaks.

Your accumulator tank/pump will run much quieter if you run about 2-3 feet of flexible rubber hose before tying into the hard factory plumbing lines, on the inlet and outlet sides. That annoying pump running noise is multiplied as it carries thru the hard plastic lines. I did this mod after learning about it on this forum a few years back and I was amazed as to the results.I used to take a shower and listen to the pump run every time it kicked on. Now we hear nothing.

I'm guessing by "hard plastic" you mean PVC? The fresh water line in my camper is PEX tubing which, while not as soft as rubber, is still a flexible tubing. I wouldn't want PVC running right to the pump either. That vibration would be bound to stress the PVC and fittings. In any case, it's not the noise of the pump that bothers me it is they way the pump cycles.

Checked battery water levels. Good. Will continue to keep on a trickle charge. Also sprayed the legs and basement with bug spray and around the interior floor and slide-outs trying to keep spiders esp. from getting started. No real spider issues in the 6 years we have had our double slide by Okan. The very heavy batteries are getting harder to check water levels each passing year. Next time I may buy batteries that never need the water checked.

I threw up some vent covers with screens and installed them on the two vents that open. Now we can travel down the road with the vents all the way open, increasing airflow exponentially...and allowing the dog to ride back in the camper if we so desire.

Not normally an issue in AK....but we're headed south in a few days and you guys have some stupid hot weather happening down there. We heard it was over 80°F in Oregon yesterday! 8D We'll be cranking our AC a bunch...that's for sure.

Also...the vent covers help save the vent tops from the UV effects.

I had them on our old cimarron TT, and liked them a lot.

Good tip regarding the noise isolation, but all the FW lines in my Northstar are PEX, not a hard PVC. You can just see the T feeding the sink above the drain line in the before pic. The pump noise wasn't the problem. It was the frequent cycling I wanted to do something about.

Ha! How far South you coming? It's over 100 degrees today in the OC, So Cal. I'm seriously thinking about hitting the beach, maybe take fido along.

Regarding the vent covers, which do you recommend for for the Fantastic Fan? I've been reading that some covers have clearance issues. In addition, the manual says NOT to use any kind of vent cover over the fan. I think that's just a bunch of hooey.

This would be great as a stand alone Thread, including a "how to". Could have been very informative for this Thread: installing 12v outlets. Obvious questions is why the Blue Sea 360 12v Panel, a source for the panel, and how was it wired.
