After all my personal brain damage hashing out my options over and over again I made the jump to a 19.5 tires and wheels set up. I’ve known I was running at the weight limit for a few years with my stock 245/75R16LT setup but I never had an issue. After looking all over for wheels that would properly accommodate a 285/70R16LT tire and rated at the same 3750 lbs, I gave up. I found a great deal on this set up from a gentleman that went thru the same tire dilemma and then sold the slide in and went to a class a diesel pusher. I had them out on the highway today, very smooth and stable with a very little bit of the high pitched semi truck tire sing. Vision Heavy Hauler wheels and 245/70R19.5 Sumitomo ST918 tires, I just had them Saf-Tee siped for better ice traction. ![]()

the round retention pins for the Lance strut mount on the cabover of my 8 year old 1055 had developed some play where they insert into the aluminum block so I replaced them with new mounts

Cried a little bit when I discovered that water had started to pool in the skin of the cabover floor, punched a couple small holes to allow it to drain out till I can take the skin off. Another leak has cropped up and the weather is too ****ty to fix it. I finally got the rot in the wing back together. Wind rain and cold made a single day job four days. If that thing rots now it's just possessed.

I bought a de-humidifier and put it in the TC. That thing is going to be turned on and running through September unless we are out camping. Not going to deal with the mess we had last year with mildew!!!! Set it on the counter so it will drain into the grey tank. We are out camping at least once a month so I dont have to worry about the tank overflowing (or the bucket in th de-humidifier filling up and it shutting down) One beautiful wife Mattie and Trooper the furcampers 2019 Dodge 4500 with 2008 Lance 1181 2015 Jeep Wrangler toad w/ ReadyBrake/Brute Web Site

Not today but a few days ago I got rid of the depleted Optima and installed a Universal group 24 in the engine compartment. I spent four days in the GSMNP and just used the Universal for the first three days. I used the mattress warmer two nights plus all of the other stuff. With the 75 amphrs instead of the 55 it worked great. I drew it down to 60% then went to the other set up. I didn't want to pull it down further on it's first draw down. One thing I'll say no more Optimas for me... |
