Topic: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Repaired battle damage from our recent run of the Burr Trail. During the drive the passenger side window valence that holds the window blind completely came out of the wall. I had to use wall anchors to reinstall it.

Down to the last week of preparations before leaving for Alaska this Saturday. Repositioned the truck and camper this morning so we could load the motorcycles on the trailer we'll be towing. Trailer is now ready; one small step for the trip, one giant leap toward starting the adventure :-)

Gas truck tomorrow, start cooling the refrigerator on Thursday, add water and last minute items on Friday and hit the road Saturday morning! Let the adventure begin.

Replaced my Coleman air conditioner with a low profile Dometic. Very nice to gain almost 3" in clearance.

Also changed out the light bulbs to LED and what a difference in energy consumption!

installed new LED clearance lighting. I'm strongly considering replacing the turn, tail, and back-up to LED now.

Sean - what size Coleman did you put in? We'd love to replace our 13.5 with a 9200 since we have not had any luck running the 13.5 on our little Honda EU2000i. Haven't tried the hard start kit yet but...

We changed our bulbs to LEDs a couple of years ago...love them :-)

I've always wondered what is gained by swapping out the running lights on a camper. After all, they are only on when the truck is running so they don't drain the battery. I realize bulbs burn out, and that might be a good time to replace them; as they fail, but to just wholesale swap out the lights?

the ones you have a chance to leak(they are two peace, base and lens). lenses crack and leak. check them out closely. mine were full of water and leaked back in to the camper. I replace all the running lights with solid molded LED lenses. no leaks going on now.

Exactly!

Repaired a Lance 820 last year that all the damage was caused by leaking clearance lights.

I bought 2 to replace the clearance lights on my Lance 1050S after seeing that mess!
