69 Avion , tell me more about the check valve for the shower line .

Here is a link for a float valve in a floor drain. This is not the one I was looking for, but I like the concept, except it is too large.

The one that I saw (and an still looking for) was made out of PVC and was originally designed to keep gases from backing up. The way that it worked, it appeared that it would also stop water. They had one that could be installed vertical and horizontal. I can't find it now, but I will keep looking.

is this the one you mean?

That is the one that I was looking for.

BlackFlagForge, I was looking at your frame concept again and if you don't mind me making a suggestion, you may want to consider making your frame right under the vertical wood of the wing (instead of closer to the center of the floor). The reason for that is that is where the strength of the camper is near the floor area. If you did it that way, you could put three or four cross members across the floor to make it really strong without much more weight. From that area you could go around the perimeter of the cantilevered part of the camper and not disrupt the area that needs to have a gray water tank as high as you can get it.

Also, the stainless steel gray water tank that I used is actually a structural member if it is attached properly. An eight inch deep stainless steel tank has a lot of vertical strength for being less than 40 pounds.

This is very true and I'll probably do it this way now I just need to get to this stage of construction! hahah

I think they are kind of like a hybrid monocoque structure.

This Avion discussion thread is becoming like a graduate seminar. I have to admit I'm dizzy, but thrilled to see all these smart and capable folk go at it.

You are doing a great job, and doing it right. I'm glad to see so many people taking the time to rebuild these campers back into the gems that they were meant to be.

Did you find out if yours has pop rivets on the side seams of the roof like mine has?

The top seams near the AC are the same as everywhere else, I've not removed the sealer near the edges yetw

We has a lot of areas like your picture, but some areas stuck real well. I had some areas that were peeling and were easy to scrape off. Cayo recommended a plastic scraper and just get off what you can and recoat it.
